Which do you like better - liquid or pencil?
I tried the liquid because I thought it would be easier to use, but it's so sharp looking and it fades funny...I got a drugstore brand, so nothing fancy...is it that I'm using cheap stuff or am I putting it on wrong or something?
I like the smudgy look of my pencil better...

Me too. I use a pencil that has a smudger on the other end. I like mine softer and smudged - I don't like the way it looks on me if its sharp.

Pencil, but I don't like it smudged.
However I don't like the sharp look that liquid gives

Liquid liner is a bastard.
That is all.

I like the MAC kohls but I also like the fluidlines. They are really easy to apply with an angled brush. You get the liquid liner look with a lot less hassle

me too. Fresh makes a great pencil...not too hard, not too soft...just right  It's a bit more expensive than a drugstore brand, but they last FORever

Bobbi Brown has a great gel liner that lasts all day. It doesn't smudge like the pencil (unless you want it too then you can use your finger to apply it) and it's not as intense/hard looking as the liquid liner. You apply it with a brush.

Liquid liner is really difficult to get on. I just can't do it. Once it's on though, it STAYS, no fading, which is nice.

Liquid, fo' shizzle.
Physician's Formula makes the best liquid liner ever. :)

I like the crayon ones. They are softer and easier to put on than a pencil, but they don't have a sharp line like the liquid.

Liquid liner is great for certain looks - doe eyes, retro
Pencil is good for something more smudgy
And powder liner with pencil is awesome for smokey eyes.
No matter what form, I use them and love them.

I almost always use liquid liner. Closer to my eyelashes and a much more thin line. i hate thick lines that look like hooker eyeliner. For any occasion. It reminds me of Carmen Electra - bleck. Um, oh, I have a lancome or estee lauder one. I do have a pencil like one, more a gel type that's clinique. I spend a lot on eyeliner. I wear it every day, so yea. Plus i line the inside of my lower eyelids.

I've tried the inside of the lower lid - but I find it always ends up gooped up in the corner of my eye later in the day. Doesn't that happen to you?

Definitelty a dark brown soft pencil. They look even better the longer I have them on because they kind of smudge a little and look smoky. I have dark brown eyes and hair, though....It may look too dramatic on someone with light eyes and hair.

Nah - I find that you can get away with alot when you are fair - and the lighter your hair, the more makeup you'll need. Think Gwen Stefani and Christina Aguilera.

I LOVE using shadow as a liner! I use a compact, square brush and "push" the color into my lash line. It looks really soft, even if you use dark colors. Plus, you have a HUGE variety of liner colors, since you can use any shadow color! My fav. so far this summer is bronze! If I go traditional, I tend to use the pencil liner. It's a lot easier to put on, and you can blend better with the shadow.
