Has anyone ever done the Insanity workout videos or have any feedback on them? Are they worth the money?

They're definitely a high intensity cardio, but not sure how they fit into Erik's program. I have heard from others that they think P90X is a better investment -- but I have two very fit friends who had to quit both the Insanity & P90X b/c they actually LOST muscle mass when following the programs to a T...

I have completed the Insanity and Insanity Asylum videos, and I love them!!! They are very high intensity, and they really push you to the limit. I was under Erik for over a year, and still follow his weight training plans, but I do the Insanity for my cardio. I believe they are very much worth the investment! I never lost muscle mass, but gained so much endurance!!!

dont think that long of a dvd will fit your program unless you trim it.

I did both p90x and insanity. I did gain strength with p90x but it was VERY time consuming.....insanity was awesome, built up endurance and they weren't as long.....the second month is a little longer but I loved it!

I tried p90x and hated it.

I would no doubt hate it too.
The fit test alone is a challenge.

you would definitely hate it.. Vic ocassionally gets hooked back to it. I want to poke my eyes out!
I own them, but I will say that you can find plenty of this style workout online for free.
If you are just looking to add it to a plan, then search online for some circuits.

I did insanity last summer and it was amazing. I got into the best shape of my life - endurance-wise. It was hard on my knees though and I had to invest in a good pair of shoes. My abs never looked so good. Then I got pregnant and all that changed :funny:

I have used them and I agree, I thought just the fitness test was hard! I thought it was way too much cardio for what I need but it was nice to have those dvd's while I was traveling and without a place to do sprints and such.

I had the same experience! Got into the best shape I'd been in, then got pregnant. Still looking for those abs again..

:yeahthat:
I ended up needing a c-section, so I really feel you on finding those abs. I had to wait 6 weeks after my surgery before I could resume my fitness routine. It's slowly coming back, but I can't believe how weak my core muscles have become. Not quite ready yet for Insanity again -- I need to get stronger and I absolutely NEED more sleep.:D

I bought P90X and regret it....I knew how to do all that stuff based on years of lifting and my time in the service. My sister got Insanity and didn't feel like it was worth her money.
