I am a little overwhelmed but am finding great information here. Losing weight and getting strong on my own has not been working. Considering I am an idiot when it comes to the science of eating, training, and weight loss I feel lucky to be the same weight and not gaining. I know there is a way for me to get my body fat down and I am determined to figure it out.

Welcome! I agree, the wealth of information can be a bit overwhelming. I had considered myself to be one that knew a lot about this stuff...only to learn that theres still a LOT for me to learn! ;) This is a great place for that! Happy to have you here :0)
