Had my first refeed last night. Meal #5 - Whole wheat pasta w/ground turkey and Meal #6 - 2 bagles w/ cottage cheese. (I was in heaven)
So, I got up this morning and looked in the mirror and I saw this lean woman looking back at me! :train: Is it just my imagination or can my first refeed have this much of an impact on my body?

Can someone point me to the thread and/or sticky that talks about "refeeding" and what it is and how often I should incorporate it into my diet?
I'm "guessing" it is part of carb cycling? or suddenly allowing certain additional carbs in the day/meal? Help? Thanks. And yes, one goal is FAT LOSS.

Sure. But the muscles are full and skin is tighter as a result.

Sure it can. If you are at all glycogen-depleted, the carbs during the refeed will be stored in your muscles to replace lost glycogen, and it will also take along water with it. The result being, you wake up the next day heavier, but LEANER. You know you've had a successful refeed if this is the result. Congrats! :)

So, a five hr. refeed is enough to restore leptin levels? How do you know how many carbs to take in during that time?

No, it's not.
We've discussed this in another thread.
And I THINK, 5 hours is the shortest time period any research has shown has had any positive effect on leptin. Regardless, insignificant.

Is there a thread somewhere that outlines how one would do this exactly?

I had three slices of Pizza Hut pizza, some breadsticks, and a nice Taco Bell jamboree for my refeed yesterday.
I was down 4 lbs as of today, from Thursday.
And I'm about to hit more Taco Bell just on principle.

Why would you go to Taco Bell when you're in Florida? I don't remember what you've got in the way of real Mexican, but that's where the good Cuban is...

Most of the authentic Cuban is south of here. There's a few in FLL, but not as much as down closer to Miami.
Besides, Taco Bell just kicks ass. You can load up on major crushage with just a few bucks.

The geographic difficulty is the only acceptable answer. Perhaps because I'm spoiled, having lived in the Keys and now in the Tex-Mex Capitol, but even when I was in Chicago I wouldn't eat there.

Yeah, well. Taco Bell still rules, and it beats driving 15-20 minutes down 95 to get to the real stuff in Hialeah or North Miami.

Isn't pizza a little high in fat for a refeed?

I think the only accurate response here is either "oh well" or "I don't give a rat's ass". I'll let you choose.
