ok i'm tired of wearing the same damn pants to the gym every day. i need a pair with pockets so i can listen to tunes and hold my keys. i'm looking at these hawt pants from lululemon (http://shop.lululemon.com/products/clothes-accessories/women-pants/Studio-Pant-II-No-Liner-31069?cc=7873&skuId=3397843&catId=women-pants), but they are a gazillion dollars.
who makes your favorite workout clothes?

OMG! Great post! I love lululemon pants. They have amazing powers that make your butt look awesome. I've only had two pairs but wear them to death. They wash really well and who cares if people think I never change clothes? I too am obsessed with pockets. In the summer I wear skirtsports gymgirl skirts. The shorts underneath have awesome pockets and the shorts never ride up. http://www.skirtsports.com/shop/product.cfm/id/1017-Gym-Girl-Ultra I'm boring and get the basic black but they have cute prints and colors too.

i wear a lot of the skirts like Deb or Nike Short that have that same built in panty. Rarely if ever wear pants but i will wear a pair of sport pants over my shorts in the colder weather and strip that off.. I can not train legs in pants.
No need for pockets for me, our gym music works great for me.. I also have a small little terry 'bag' that i can put a notebook, phone, pen and what i might need in the immediate moment when training. The rest is in my gym bag near by.

I'm a runner so I have a lot of running skirts. They have a few small pockets, designed for gels, so I carry a little bag for my notebook and keys, etc.

do you not like training legs in pants because they are uncomfortable, or because you can't really see your legs? i have been wearing the same crop pants to the gym forever and am wondering now if the skirt will be better for leg days......

Meanwhile, the brand doesn't matter. I go for the deal. Cheap! and instead of the pair that looks best, for now I have to choose the pair that looks the least offensive.

I can't stand to have any skin exposed at the gym. I don't want anything there to touch my skin.

I like lots of the styles in Lulu and Bia Brazil... but only on other people... not on this ass. Not yet. One day. One milestone at a time. I'll reassess after Patrice IV.

I have a theory about Lulu. LOL. You know how they say Guinness beer tastes better the closer you get to Ireland? The closer you get to Vancouver, the more you see women wearing Lulu. We wear it to work. To the gym. To the movies. To the bar. LOL. It's almost a fashion epidemic hahaha (my sister living in NYC always bugs me about it). I can't help it. I have a serious love affair with lululemon. It's comfy. And while my weight is fluctuation :-( lulu pretty much still fits (can't think about jeans right now....). Not every single thing they produce is a winner, but most of their stuff really is the ish. I've had lulu pants that i bought in 2005 that i *still* wear LOL. It's $ but i've slowly collected items over the years and it was well worth it.
I worked really hard not to buy the tutu they had listed on their website a few weeks ago. LOL (i dance, but not ballet!).

debbie - black of course. it goes with everything and doesn't show stains. i'm a slob.
miss silly - i just noticed you are from vancouver. i LOVE that city! visited once for a couple of days and it was def. on my top ten places list. i just loved how you could still see mountains from downtown.
luckily, (or not for my wallet) there is a lululemon store here in berkeley. might have to make a trip next payday! i'm very tempted by some of their tops and jackets as well. really want this:

I'm with you sister- I always get black for the same reasons. PLUS- I heard it makes you look thinner!
I love that jacket. One of the gals at my gym has it, same cool heathered color. The seams and the curved back hem are super flattering. Very tempting!

:) well i have to admit, i'm biased so i do love it here too LOL. If you can deal with 10 or so months of drizzle rain (fo shizzle!) then it's worth how awesome it is in August and September. There is some pretty badass natural beauty around here. It's actually my favourite part of the twilight movies hahahah. Filmed locally and really did a great job of showing off how beautiful the northwest coast is. I'm glad to hear you loved your visit to our city!!!!
Yeah....lulu.... probably where a good portion of my paycheque goes to as well LOL! LOVE that hoodie!!!!!!!!!

I have a serious lulu addiction. 23 bottoms, 20 tops and 6 jackets. It's bad and making me go broke but I always look good at the gym. I live in Colorado and we have 3 stores but no outlet. I went to an outlet this summer for the first time in Florida and it was TROUBLE!!! My fiancé told me I am not allowed to wear the wonder unders out in public anymore bc my butt looks too good. No such thing I said!!!

Lulu pants are awesome! And paying more is worth it, in my opinion! If I feel better about how I look going in, I get a better workout! It is those "fat" days where I feel slobby that my workout suffers. I know it is counterintuitive, but it is what it is!

Am I the only po' ho' here who gets whatever I can find cheap at Marshall's, TJ's and such? I don't care what brand they are... Nike, Adida, Calvin, etc... as long as they fit well, and I get them for half-the-price that the same exact thing costs at Sports Authority and 'upscale' department stores.
I had a client make a joke gift for me - a SUPER tight pair of black shorts - and the say in big, block letters on the butt - THE KING. I should use them on leg day.

I think so after my purchase yesterday. Look and see if there is a store in your area. Or close to you, I have to try stuff on. The pants I got are way long, and I'm tall. I do believe some come in reg length and long. <3 my new stuff!!

I do buy A LOT of Lulu for yoga and running. The reason I think they are worth the $$$ is that you can wash and wash them and they last forever! My oldest pair are 5 years old and still going strong. They tailor everything for free and make sure that you go to the store not online for that reason.
2 precautions: with tops and pants do whatever crazy jumping, yoga, running moves in the clothes in the dressing room and DO NOT use fabric softner
Here is why: went to the Yoga Studio Christmas party last night and our wonderful boob lover "Bill" informed me he liked my new top because he got to see a good portion of the girls.
I took that in stride because I have had this healthy "set" since I was 12. Sometimes I wonder if I should just flash him once and then the mystery would be over, lol! Also, with pants, bend over and make sure that when the fabric stretches you can not see through them.

I think the tops are a little small for size b/c of the built in bra's( which are awesome, btw).. I wear a size 4 in lulu and generally my tops are smalls at the store for regular clothes. So ya, I would say pretty true to size. The 4's are just a little longer on me cuz Im short.

Not at all!! I get a lot of Danskin capris at WALMART!! The MTA tanks I get from there. I have gotten many, many, many pairs of capris and tanks there for between 2 and 7 dollars. Serious!! And I've had these for at least 3 or 4 yrs. so far. Get enough of them and you can rotate clothes. Plus it depends on what I'm working that day as to what I wear. TJ MAXX is a great place to buy cheaper top of the line wear.

Girls, I know that most of you on here are US ladies, but if you want some of the most awesome gym gear on the face of the planet (I don't say this lightly either) try http://www.lornajane.com.au/ Australian company, I think they have just opened their first store in the States, I don't recall where though?
Best workout wear I have ever bought and will never go back to anything else. I have tights, sports bras and tops that as long as you wash them in a bra bag and hang out in the shade, have lasted me close to 4 - 5 years and still are in great condition. A little more expensive than what you'd usually pay, but I simply won't buy anything else now.

OK GIRLS!!! This is coming from someone who I wouldn't say is a tightwad but I'm not willing to pay out the ying yang for too much of anything. I posted earlier in this thread on how cheap I was when it came down to my workout clothes, (which I still am), but that said, Hubby and I went to Chicago this weekend for our 10 yr. anniversary and while walking about the town I spotted the Lululemon Athletica store on the corner and I about jumped outta myself for the excitement of wanting to check it out from everything I've heard about it. I walked in and experienced an OMG moment just from the selection alone. Yes, they are very pricey. But EVERYTHING was sooooo darn cute and the material was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!!! So comfy feeling and strong. THAT said, everything was so overwhelming I walked outta there with nothing!! Not one stitch of clothing. My husband even made the comment on how cute everything there was. And the stuff for the guys was amazing too!! I will go back more prepared again.....(with money this time too!!) With it being our anniversary weekend I'd done blown any allowance for any unexpected purchases....(well, I went a little nuts at Soma but I wished I'd have found the Lululemon store first!!!) Anyhow, my whole point of this thread is, any of you thinking those clothes are too expensive should really check them out! Save a little extra here and there just to pick one thing out at a time if possible! I think I would have a hard time buying anything online because I really like trying the stuff on first to see how it fits. Nothing is more disappointing then purchasing something you really like then finding out it doesn't fit or look right on you AT ALL! It's was pretty cool to experience the store anyway even if I didn't purchase anything, but I will make a trip back there after I save a little here and there also. I want to make my trip worth while so I'm saving up as much as possible before I go!! It will be well worth it when 90% of the time I am in workout clothes!!!!

I understand about trying them on first. When I go into the store now I tend to try on a bunch of different styles to see how they fit and if I really like how it fits and the colour then I will buy it. Then I go home and check out the website to see what other colours they may have available online that were not in my size at the store. Sometimes, I can get them cheaper online as well.
