Digital SCales & Food Processors

I know a lot of ya'll use Salter scales...I was hoping to purchase a fairly cheap, but accurate and easy to use scale. I think a price I heard on o2 boards was $30 or so?

Can soembody recommend a specific modle of the scale that they use? I'd rather not spend more than $40-50 for a scale.

Also, for now, I'd like a mini processor to grind oats, bread, etc. Recommendations? again, i'd like to only spend $30-40 but I want one thats going to last. I've gone through too many blenders and want a brand that is going to keep me happy for a mini food processor. does anybody have the Cusin Art mini Prep?

I also have a mini-processor (actually, I have 2 since I use them a lot). They were each $12. I actually found those with the utensils at Kroger.

I agree w/ pandora about the scale. I bought mines there and it is like a best friend to me. :happy:
I paid $25 for my processor on sale at Kmart. For $50 you may be able to get both if you shop around for them.

So I should just check out prices, etc at Target and Walmart and see what the better deal is?

for the &#036;29.99 scale - thats a Salter scale which you purchased at Target right?

and for the mini food processors purchased at Kmart....is it a particular brand?

Not sure what kind of scale it is... digital... measures in ounces (and tenths of ounces) and lbs. I&#39;d like to get one that measures grams, though, eventually.

The mini-processors are proctor silex. Those were so cheap and they&#39;ve lasted years.

They usually only carry 1 brand of digital scales. My processor is a Hamilton Beach.

I have a cuisinart mini prep, and I love it. I have had the cheaper smaller choppers before, but it seemed they would always leave larger chunks of, say, onion, while the rest was minced to a paste. The Cuisinart has reverse on it, so you get a more consistent grind.

I got mine at Bed Bath and Beyond and it&#39;s a Salter (sorry, I&#39;m at work, I don&#39;t know the model number). I like it because it has a button to switch between grams and ounces. I don&#39;t remember the exact price, but it was definitely around &#036;30-&#036;40 and I just got it about a month ago.

I want to upgrade my scale from one that does ounces/lb to one that also does grams. They are more expensive with that feature.

i just got a pretty, stainless, digital scale at target. i think the brand is chefmate and it was around &#036;30.

I bought a digital scale first at Walmart, but it was defective (and would not weigh). So I returned it and purchased one from Target. I would go for the Target one if I were in your shoes.

I purchased mine on ebay. It&#39;s digital and it measures lbs., grams, oz. and it also has a tier weight...you can put a container on the scale, zero it out, and put your food in the container to weigh (it weights the food, but not the container). Mine was &#036;30 including shipping. I bought it from a seller called digitalsnail. They have tons of these for sale. Mine is the one that has the glass top.
