I know I posted a similar thread in :o2: way back when but I have a question.
I'm lookin' online at bestbuy.com (I have a gift certificate, want to use it for practical items since I'm moving out this weekend)....
I'm lookin' at the $25 George Foreman "The Champ" Grill which grills 2 burgers...
Or the bigger one which is $61.99 and is 72 square inches.
Which should I get? We dont have much counter space and so I'm leaning towards the smaller one
pros cons?

how many do you cook for or how often you want to cook?
only real drawback to the grill - the plates don't come out in some of them. really annoying to wash. other then that. great buy.

well theres just two of us, doubt I'll be grilling much...and when it comes to preparing food - the grilling doesnt take that long does it? Plus it'd probably be mainly me, SO wants to get an outdoor grill to keep illegally on our "patio" so IF and when he buys that, he'll be grilling, but for now, I'd like an indoor grill - esp since its SO easy to use..
hmm the bigger one has removable plates - maybe I should go w/ that.....

Are you going to prepare all your food for the week or just do one at a time. If you are going to do the first one, it will be a pain in the rear with a smaller one, IMO. You could just cook them in the oven.
I do like the forman gril though!

Get the one with the removable plates! I loved my George, but hated cleaning it with a passion. I finally threw it away out of frustration.

We bought this one for my father-in-law:
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3132500
It's much cheaper than the George Foreman brand ones, has removable plates, and works exactly the same. It has a HUGE grilling surface. I have an older George that is actually a bit smaller, and doesn't have removable plates. I love using it, but I hate cleaning it. I've resorted to putting a little water on the griddle, plugging it in for a minute, and using that to help "steam" the gunk off of it. It's really only bad when using marinades or sauces, but the removable plates make it SOOO much better.

Ours doesn't have a removable grill which doesn't bother me. I do the same heat a little water and no problems wiping it off. I do however hate how muchspace it takes up. Too big for the counter and almost a full drawer. (we don't have cupboards, just drawers)
