So for the past few months, I have not gotten my period. A couple weeks ago, my husband and I decided we wanted another child, and even though I knew I hadn't ovulated in a few months, we decided to TTC. Now keep in mind that since I haven't had my period, I had NO IDEA when I was scheduled to ovulate, and hadn't had any subsequent symptoms. Fast forward two weeks later, and I have in the last few days been experiencing menstrual-like cramps as well as a pulling/tugging sensation in my pelvis. My resting heartrate has increased, I sweat more during my workouts, and the period-like cramps I feel are pretty much constant. So now I am wondering if maybe I really am pregnant? These are the same symptoms I had with my son, and since I haven't had any menstrual symptoms at all in the past few months, it seems awfully coincidental that this is my period.

I have taken a pregnancy test, but the negative results didn't surprise me because A) I'm technically only two weeks in (if that), and B) I took it in the middle of the day (when my urine is diluted due to my typical intake of water).

So maybe I'm getting my hopes up, but there's definitely something going on down there. With my son, we conceived the first time we tried, so could it be that I'm just really blessed? I mean to actually conceive when I haven't even had my period?! What a dream... :)

My periods have always been irregular - I'd get them every other month or every couple of months - when I was on the pill they were fine. The first time I got pregnant, was January 1998 - I had stopped taking the pill in August 1997 and I had my period in November of 1997. In January 1998 I had been feeling really tired and almost like I was getting the flu. Several people mentioned that I could be pregnant, but for some reason I didn't think so - I just felt like I was getting sick. I took a pregnancy test and I was pregnant! It had been 2 months the last time I had a period and the nurse at the doctor's office for my first visit was trying to tell me I was 3 months along... I knew that wasn't correct.
Your period comes after you ovulate so you could have ovulated this month (even though you might not have the past 2 months) and are pregnant! I guess your period could be on the way, too. Keep us posted on what happens!

The same thing happened to me. With all my pregnancies I had terrrible cramps in the first few weeks. I had also not had my period for awhile and suddenly got pregnant. I hope it turns out well for you.

Could be, but it is very unusual to ovulate and not menstruate.

Why are you not menstruating?

Well, I lost my period right after I impemented HIIT into my program. I skipped a month, got a VERY LIGHT period in March, and haven't seen it since. And now this. I assumed the irregular cycle was due to the high intensity training, although now I'm starting to wonder if maybe I got pregnant a couple months ago and the light bleeding was implantation bleeding. I did test twice when I initially lost my period, but it was in the middle of the day, and I didn't even think about the amount of water I drink diluting the test. However...I tested with the first morning's urine this morning, and it was still negative. I'm still having plenty of symptoms, and if I only recently conceived, it'd still be too early to tell.

So...I'm going to wait a couple of weeks and see if I get a positive test. After that, I'll make a trip to the health clinic (I don't have insurance), and order a blood test, and subsequent sonogram if the blood test doesn't reveal anything. Something is definitely going on down there, and I just want to know what it is!

I keep reading about all these women who didn't get a positive HPT until they were 12 weeks along, and some were 6 months!! Crazy!

This happened to me as well. My periods have never been regular since I first got them when I was a teenager. (They would start to regulate if my bf went up, but still never monthly) I conceived after not having my period for....about 4 months. :baby: If this is what you want, I really hope you are prego! I think you probably really know already though! (I was not trying to get pregnant and didnt want to be, but I KNEW. Something had invaded my body and I was no longer in control)

Well, it's been awhile since I posted this, and while I still haven't gotten my period, I don't think I'm preggers anymore. I haven't had a single symptom for over a week now, although for awhile there, they were pretty strong!! I also haven't taken a pregnancy test since about 14 days after possible conception either. I might take another pregnancy test in a week or so just to see what it says, but for now, I've pretty much settled for the reality that I'm not pregnant, and I now need to begin trying to get my cycles back so I can conceive. I'll keep you all updated!!
