Anyone here meditate? Any tips on how to start?

Funny you should ask. I work for a chiropractor who recommended my co-worker and I meet with his guru, and Indian man who teaches yoga breathing and meditation. I went in with no expectations.

I've met with him twice in the past two weeks. He's taught me some breathing techniques and basics about posture and meditation. My homework is to do the breathing technique 2 times a day, once in the morning and once before I meditate (usually at night). I have also been instructed to meditate for 20-30 minutes daily and journal my thoughts. At our meetings, I report my meditative thoughts to him and we see if there is anything we need to work on. For example, I think a lot about working out and eating clean. I report that to him and we discuss why this is important to me.

Guru, Roger, explained that the breathing techniques cleanse the body of toxins in all of your organ systems. Meditation organizes you thoughts and aids in you becoming more peaceful within yourself.

It's all very interesting and a work in progress. I'm anxious to hear others' experiences.
