I finally did it! I've been wanting to have a brazilian wax done forever and finally got up enough balls to do it! :shutit:
Just got back. All in all, it was totally fine. Of course it did hurt some, but nowhere near as bad as I expected. The aesthetician said I did really well.
I didn't go totally hair free. I had her leave a tiny landing strip. http://www.kitelife.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/plane.gif
It looks really funny to me to not have hair down there though.

Congrats on the wax-job.

That's very encouraging to hear. I've been debating back and forth whether I'm ready to do it before my husband comes home . . . I'm still not sure if I have the "balls" to do it lol . . . but am encouraged that at least one person didn't find it too painful.
P.S. Hilarious Avi.
wax  if you did ok with the brazilian I promise you will be ok to take it all....... :p
good for you for getting it done!
love the avi, love it!

If you've ever waxed before on a somewhat regular basis, it's totally fine. The part that hurt the most was when she had to get close to the 'naughty bits' and, believe it or not, when she was carving out the "landing strip"! That area was the most sensitive.
If you have never waxed before, I don't recommend starting out with a brazilian. Go for a regular bikini wax to see how you do.

I am working my way to a brazilian. I've been waxing for years but each time I just have her get "closer" and "closer" to the goods. A little at a time!! :p This next time I go, I will also have a landing strip!! Fly the "friendly' skies!! :D

I love the brazilian wax too. The first times a bit of a shocker though. I'm addicted to them now.

It wasn't as bad as I expected the first time, either. My aesthetician is very quick.

Mu husband would love it...I just don't have the guts yet. Does it end up totally smooth, or a little rough in spots like your legs sometimes do after waxing?

The first day your pores will be red and look....funny. But after that, it's smooth. I can't compare it to leg waxing, as I've never had that done. HTH :)

If you take some paracetamol (aceteminophan??) and aspirin or ibubrofen together about 45 minutes before your appointment, it really does take the edge of the hurties. The landing strip area definitely hurts the worst, but it's bearable and worth it.

Holy damn woman-- you're some brave!!! :ninja: :train:
I could NEVER do it to myself!! Brave is right!
I've been having it done for years now. Once you get over the fear of the first time, you will sadistically be going back for more and more!

What about when it grows back? Is it prickly and itchy (especially in the summer)? Also, what about not having a 'buffer' for sweating and other wetness? Hope that's not too gross, but it's what I always think about when thinking about going bare down there! :p

Actually in my opinion it's cleaner feeling without the buffer... it's not like you run around dripping from down there :p

i've given birth at home 3 times and i'm telling you the brazilian wax sounds even more painful to me. i'm a big chicken. :baby: not only which ... how do you get over the idea of a stranger being so close to your goods. isn't that a strange feeling?

I work in a salon and I am an esthetic student-Everyone gets this done, you would be floored at how many people come in every day having this done AND they do not look like people that would even care!!! I have only been working at this place a little over a week and I am in shock how many people do this!
I've always wanted to have one done but am to chicken :baby: If I do get up the nerve, how often do you have to get it re-done? Also since I've never had it done should I shave first or do you want the hair to be longer? Ok that just seems wrong to be typing

Anytime that you want hair waxed it needs to be 1/4-1/2 an inch long. Sometimes they advise you to do a bikini wax first. Then go for the brazilian.
