View Full Version : Feeling like crap...

I have been feeling like utter crap when I train lately. Like shortness of breath, faster than normal heartbeat, and a general feeling of barfiness. Now...I know it could be the cheerios, or lack of sleep, dehydrated, or too many stimulants but really....I do all that stuff normally and it never bothered me like this before. :p WTH...it's pissing me off. I feel like I need to carry around a barf bucket

That sucks. :(

I normally only feel like that when my current trainer pushes our asses on some insane sprints/treadmill.

Could try "cleaning it up a bit" and see if it makes a difference? OR stop taking all of the mentioned, then slowly add it back in to see if you perhaps have developed an intolerance to something?

Like shortness of breath, faster than normal heartbeat,I get all of that when I'm feely stressed.

I need to carry around a barf bucket I only felt like that when I was pg. :innocent:

Maybe stress? You seem to have a lot going on right now. Even great things like getting that massive house you bid on cause stress.

Leah,
Have you had your iron levels checked recently?
I was feeling like that and had mine checked and they were waaay low(I also was losing hair)
The Dr. put me on 325mg iron(ferrous sulfate and in a few days I was new woman.

I hope you figure it out and start feeling better!

 very funny! :p
I know, I hate going to the Dr. too, but I felt like that for a while ( several weeks) My heart was just pounding and I was having trouble catching my breath, felt like barfing and it was affecting my training and then when my hair starting coming out in teeny little clumps, then I totally lost it, scheduled an appointment and am glad I did! I was crying when I called and the receptionist, being a woman herself, felt for me and got me in the same day!

It never hurts to find out for sure.

well you want to have a test for Ferritin (which is stored iron) the hemoglobin tests shows too late that your anemic.

For proper thyroid function and uptake, Ferritin levels should be between 70-100. going over or under is just as dangerous.

One should never add iron supplementation without proper testing.

I felt like this a few weeks ago. I thought it was the stimulants aswell, but I have always taken those. After a few days, it just past, not sure what the deal was.

Leah, is it during weight training or during cardio, or both?

That happened to me so bad after I got back from vacation.
Don't know what to tell you, because I wouldn't suggest doing what I did. Which was pouting, getting pissed off, eating enough post-Easter chocolate to put Jesus back in the grave, and boycotting fight training. It worked, though...I feel normal again, finally. I'm sure in spite of my reaction, and not because of it

A quick test for low iron is to look at the insides of your lower lids. If they are whitish instead of bright pink, your iron is usually low.

it's during weight training

maybe I'm just severly dehydrated more than normal, lol...I've also had a headache for two days

You may also want to have your thyroid checked when they check your iron. Sounds like what happened to my friends. On the other hand, it really could be stress induced. Try to do some relaxation!!!
