I came home from the gym, had my protein shake & rice cakes 30 minutes ago, and I am hungry again already! I'm guessing it's because I was getting hungry as I was finishing up my workout (though I thought I ate enough beforehand).

Does it matter when I eat again? I am really craving some oatmeal with cottage cheese!

Eat if you're hungry.

Rapidly digesting carbs means blood sugar goes up fast, insulin comes along to play, clears blood sugar, which usually means it goes lower than normal for a period before normalizing.

When it drops down, you can find yourself very hungry again.

Eat up

I think so-- had the usual, which I figured out according to that protein/carbs formula (0.4g protein per kg of bodyweight or whatever it is).

I think it might've been my breakfast since it didn't even keep me full though the entire workout. Maybe I need more egg whites next time.

Edit: Thanks for the explanation, Thunder! *off to make oatmeal*
