I had my little guy a few weeks ago and I am itching to get back to the gym. I am not supposed to do anything for 6 weeks and I don't think I can wait that long :yell: Rationally I can tell myself that I had major surgery and should just hold off but I feel good and just want to get started. It does not help that it is 38c (100f) here and I feel every ounce of extra weight. Someone please talk me down off the ledge......

You did just have major surgery! Letting yourself heal completely will result be a whole lot better than causing another injury or tear from working out too soon. The gym will be there when you are healed and back into action! Enjoy these first weeks with your little one... times flies!
STOP!
;)
This is time for mommy to heal. You have so much time after those few weeks. Soooo much time! The results will be better if you wait.
You in 6 weeks = :train:
Enjoy your rest when you get it and your beautiful baby. :)

Your abdominal muscles need to heal back together, recall they were just cut apart to take a baby out of You? Imagine the damage you could potentially cause... you don't want a big ol' lump of a belly do you?
Aside from that you could just end up burning yourself out. Take it easy and  the new baby and yourself.

Girl, I feel you! I'm itching to get out and do something too. You'd think having a newborn and two other kids we'd have all we can handle just with that...but I'm going a little nutsy around here. But it's only three more weeks - stick it out sister! Your body will thank you for it later.

Thanks for the encouragement ladies. I think it is really different with the third, I don't feel the typical newborn exhaustion. I am getting enough sleep and part of me just kinda feels lazy, lolling around with the babe and the kids  . Crazy, I know but true. I am so loving my little peanut but he sleeps tons and when he's asleep I can hear the barbells calling me from under my bed  Perhaps this is my post-partum insanity  I won't do any lifting but the temptation is there and if I don't talk it out I will do it, kinda like the food porn people are always posting. I have been putting the little man in a sling and carrying him around the neighbourhood so I guess I will continue with that and try to relax. Thanks again all!
