ok according to several calorie calculators and matt I should be eating about 2000 calories a day for fat loss, so I go to fitday and draw up a diet that fits and has protein , carb, and fats in right amounts. I have alot of veggies in this plan, and some starchy carbs, however, I am having trouble eating it all, I am literally stuffed, I feel that this is not good, I posted about the egg white omelet yesterday, it was MASSIVE. So..... should I just eat all this food as long as I am around 2000? Its all clean food....it just feels so wrong to eat that much..... I mean its not even chocolate  jk ;)

I have just always thought portion sizes were really important and some of the amount of veggies i have to eat to get to 2000 calories is 3 to 4 times what I would call a portion.

I think that veggies comment is part of your problem. Unless you're calling a sweet potato a vegetable, you're not supposed to be counting your veggies towards your totals. They increase satiety a lot, which is great when you want more food than you're allowed, but not great when you're increasing cals and not hungry.

Eat your food! Just not mass quantities of vegetables until your appetite catches up.

Only fibrous veggies like brocolli for example don't have to count... things like carrots and that should be counted...

But attempting to eat enough carrots to substantially increase your daily calories is torture. If I wanted to add 500cals to my diet, above my satiety point, I wouldn't be doing it with vegetables.

What I'm sayin, is that vegetables like carrots for example, should be counted in your 2000 calories, whereas high fibrous veggies like brocolli shouldn't.

What type of carbs are you eating right now?

And what's your breakdown for nutrients?

I eat quite a few different kinds of frozen veggie mixes that contain carrots.

No way in heck I'm going to pick out the carrots to weigh or measure them.

If there are only a few I don't sweat it.

Tearose, there is no such thing as a standard portion size. A portion is whatever fits into your totals.

It's all about grams...

I wouldn't kill yourself with veggies.

Keep carbs at or less than 100g, shoot for 1-1.5g/lb of protein, and get the rest from good fats.
