Just wondering.....
I have oily skin and tend to break out before TOM-I don't want to goop this on my face if I will break out. It is the regular Dove gradual self tanner- NOT a face formula.
Any thoughts?

The gradual self-tanners are more lotion than self-tanner. Because it's a body lotion, I'd steer clear. It definetly has the potential to make you break out. Straight-up self-tanners are usually fine to use on the face.

Jergens and Oil of Olay make a gradual tanner for the face as well as the body. I use both, and haven't had an issue with breakouts. But I wouldn't use the ones formulated for the body, because I doubt those are non-comedogenic.

Lancome makes a great oil-free tanner for the face. Pricey, but you can get it on Ebay for less.

Have you ever considered air brush solutions? That's what I use (apply with a flock sponge or something similiar) A few to consider:

Thanks everyone for the replies-although, I did use it on my face before I read them.
I've not broken out yet. *score!*

But my body is turning a little orangey. :finger:

So, I'll lay off for a few days.

:finger: You CANNOT look like an oompa loompa, Brandy. Make sure you lay off that stuff!

When I get an airbrush or Mystic tan, I get my face sprayed, too. It's never been a problem as far as break-outs go, and actually... it's looked fairly natural, too.

Estee Lauder makes a separate self-tanner for the face. It's excellent.

I think that your face breaking out and what self tanner to use are unrelated issues. If you're using a good skin care program to control your oily skin then using a self tanner shouldn't matter. Unless you're using it daily...are you using it daily??
