View Full Version : Does training/nutrition effect your sex drive?

Does this happen to anyone else? My diet and training seems to really have an impact on my sex drive. Once I lower my carbs, I get really agressive which is fantastic for working out but not so great for anything else. I have no interest in sex and am usually cranky all day. On a refeed day, give me a big old chocolate bar and I'm good to go. Then I'm relaxed, easy going, and horny. Does anyone have strong correlations between their food/training/sex drive?

I ask b/c it is driving my husband nuts. The more I exercise and the better shape I get into, the more agressive and work-out prone I get, and the less I want to have sex. I just have absolutely no interest. Any suggestions?

Julie

I am the opposite. The more I workout and better shape I get in, the more my libido increases :D

Hasn't chocolate been shown to be a slight aphrodisiac (sp?)?

I'm the opposite. The more my diet is on and training is kicked in to high gear, the higher my drive is. Wish I had advice for ya.

Crap. Mine seems to work in the opposite direction. The more I work out, the more frisky my husband gets.

Totally makes me feel like a sexy biotch and strokes my ego, but doesn't seem to kick start anything else. I do pretty much walking around feeling like I'm the shit all day, though. It is pretty cool that after 8 years of marriage he is still so into me.

As far as training/sex goes for me, I am always 'in the mood'--training hard and dieting or not. However, when I am feeling really fit I seem to want it more--I guess cause I feel sexier and want to show my body off...

 I'm still waiting on that sex drive increase. I want to have sex, but only for the "I just had sex" thought, the thought that I'm attractive and can get it....but not that high libido type of sex want. If that makes any sense.

LMAO! That's awesome!

I'd have to say when I work out and eat right, I feel a lot better and want to be naked and get it on a lot more... A whole lot more!

My libido has always been healthy, but what I find strange is that it increases further when I'm in a slight to moderate caloric deficit...

Julie, I am the same way. The thing is I know I will get into it once I get into it, so I just go with it and all is well. That is my only suggestion - you might not really feel up to it but once things get started you'll be good to go.

Not true...unfortunately Stifler never wants it and informs me of this even AFTER we just had sex...it was just a boner and those magically pop up for no reason :grumble: . Once a month is all. So given that I'm really sick of doing it myself, my libido sucks.

I should start another thread about always having sex from behind.....:crying:

Mine defin. increases. Not sure if this is cause I feel great about myself, a chemical balance or the muscle to look at in the gym but my man doesn't seem to mind!

Only when I'm so f'ing hungry I can't concentrate. But generally, no. The increase in self confidence and body image usually does positive things for me. :D

Mine definitely drops off the closer I get to show. I think it's a combination of the low carbs, no energy, and no freakin' time! By that point, when I'm done with everything I have to cram in a day, all I want to do is sleep.

I'm on the flip side of the coin... I love a good workout - even more so when I'm dieting down...

When I started training and eating right, I noticed that I wanted sex all the time.

The only time I think mine got lower was when I was on a certain birth control pill.

My sex drive has been in the "crapper" since I gained about 15 pds. Part of my sudden urge to lose that weight is so that my sex drive will return! I can't wait, and know my partner feels the same.
