So, what tips would you give someone who is soon-to-be or newly pregnant?
I'll start....
Don't let your weight get out of hand. While you are eating for two, it's not for two GROWN people.

Some quick thoughts
Atleast 6 months out, get your eating, drinking and if smoking in order.. Start eating well and quit the latter. Get plenty of rest, reduce stress and get some exercise. Take a good mulit or prenatal vitamin.
Start saving a lot of $ LOL

Postpartum tip: If you aren't on birth control, GET on birth control! LOL! Having 3 kids in under 3 years is NOT fun for the body. Many women are much more fertile right after childbirth.
Yoga is great to keep the body flexible and not achy during pregnancy. Some poses will, of course, have to be modified. :)
7 up and crackers, while not the best nutritional choices, can really help alleviate morning sickness. So can ginger.
I can probably think of a lot more, having been pregnant 3 times in the last 4 years (6 times in the last 11 years). I may be back.

Don't stress about your weight gain, you can lose it after the babe is born.
Gingerale and hard candies help pukeyness
If you are trying to get pregnant act pregnant until you are (no alcohol, no drugs, take prenatals) that way you have no worries or regrets.
Try to be in a healthy stable relationship cause pregnancy and kids are stressful enough without pre-existing issues to work on.
More as I think about it.....
Realize that at some point during the first trimester you may feel like absolute crap, and the most exercise you get is crawling from the bed to the couch to the toilet.
Accept this, and be gentle to yourself. The second trimester is usually wonderful, and you can get back to a somewhat normal routine.

What halts sex during pregnancy?? :innocent: ;)
I would say to be prepared for anything. You can't count on feeling great all the way through, and you can't count on getting sick either. I've had two pregnancies that I wouldn't have felt different at all until the baby started kicking where I could feel it - then this time! Every person is different, it can't hurt to arm yourself with information but don't freak out if your experience doesn't follow the book.
And relax!!

Before trying to conceive, make sure you're a woman.
