this is not a constant thing for me, however from time to time I will go through spells where I feel quite cold all the time, unless I soak in a really hot bath or something.
Is feeling "cold" a sign that you are losing body fat?
or is it something to be concerned with, perhaps nutrition is lacking something...?
there are no other "negative" attritubutes that accompany this "cold" feeling. Usually when I feel cold...everything else is going great! no cravings, I feel strong, workouts are going good, etc... just cold.
I'm going to get another hoodie...see ya

YAAAAAAAAAA-HOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you just made my day strongchick!!!!
Does this mean I also get additional extra calories burned just for my body to try and keep up my own body temp all day long??? and all night long??? even while I'm sleeping?! (I realize it would be a teeny - tiny amount of calorie burn, but hey I'll take it!!)
Amazing how now my perspective on "feeling cold" has become something to feel HAPPY about!
Even still I think I might add some extra "chili peppers" in my omlette for supper..that also gives me a temporary "warm" feeling..
Do you have any specific foods/snacks that give you this same temp. warm feeling (besides the obvious...like hot sauce,etc...)

I am convinced that any time I am cold for no reason, I am getting leaner.

Nah, no extra calories.
I'm freaking cold all the time...
I just drink lots of hot liquids: tea, decaf coffee, etc.

Take your basal temp first thing in the morning with a non-digital thermometer, and a couple times throughout the day. If its below 97.2 consistantly, get you thyroid checked (that means free T4, free T3, and TSH levels).

yeah, I can tell how well my thyroid meds are working by the number of shirts and sweaters I have to wear in my house. my dad keeps the air conditioning blowing at full force, rain or shine, summer or winter. I consider just a long sleeved T-shirt a positive sign for the meds' effectiveness.

Yep......agree....being cold all the time isn't always a good thing...along w/ thyroid, it could also be poor circulation

i am constnatly cold. all the time. terrible circulation runs in my family lol -- I"ll wear jackets and jeans in the summer all the time...
actually during the winter I had my mini space heater on in my room and my hand was cold so i put it by it... didn't even feel my hand burn lol whoops!
i found out that it could have been because of lack of salt in my diet...? dont know if thats true or not

Any time of the day, I can be found to have an ice cold nose, butt cheeks, hands, and feet. You'll find me huddled next to the space heater. And wearing flannel pajamas, sleeping in polar fleece sheets. And that's in the summer.
I've had my thyroid checked and it's all normal, I've just always been like this. One thing that helps alot when it gets annoying enough is taking cayenne capsules. Definately helps with circulation and helps me feel warmer.

Normal doesn't mean much Most docs just test TSH, and the lab ranges are extremely outdated.

Correct - but I have been through the full gamut in regards to lab and bloodwork and I just said 'normal' for the sake of time and space. I've had multiple series ran over consecutive months, and for all endocrine hormone levels, not just thyroid. It's something I've been going through for years.
Unfortunately, after all that I can say that it is normal.
I say unfortunately because dammit - after all that, it would be nice to have at least one definitive answer, ya know!?!?!
But yes, I do agree with you that 'normal' is a faulty diagnosis. It's not only all relative, but it's dynamic as well. Couple that with different labs using different testing procedures, different ranges of values, different criteria........

I searched and searched for a pic of one of those aliens from "V" where they rip the face off and you see it's just a big lizard.
But alas my joke is ruined :(
