I have to take Citrucel fiber everyday. I use the sugar free kind but just noticed that it has 25 calories worth of malto. I have been taking this at night before bed but am now wondering if this is an OK time or not due to the maltodextrin. Thanks!

OK, I know this wasn't your question, but I feel that you're eating all clean, whole foods and getting enough veggies, you shouldn't need any fiber supplement. I can't tell you how regular I was when I ate oatmeal 3x per day.
As far as the malto, as long as it fits into your daily calorie totals, it shouldn't matter.

I think it is fine. If you are concerned, just work those 25 calories into your daily totals to be safe.

I had this same issue and was advised to take physillium husk (sp?) instead. It is the main ingredient in citricell. That way you are getting the fiber, without all the added stuff. You can buy it at a grocery store or health food store and it is not expensive.
