I am such a klutz. I was getting my meals ready for work today and spilt olive oil on my t-shirt - it is 100% cotton and new. :yell: Any ideas on the best way to get this out?

Gravy, butter, salad dressing, olive oil, vegetable oils 2) Place stain face-down on plain white paper towel. Replace paper towels as needed.
3) Squeeze small amount of dishwashing liquid on underside of stain to break up grease.
4) Wait at least 1 minute for detergent to break up grease.
5) Pretreat stain again with detergent.
6) Launder garment in warmest water safe for fabric.
I love google.
Also love that you said "spilt" ;)

I'm the oxyclean queen. It takes out just about anything me or my kids get into, except gum.

Thank you.  I am so laughing out loud right now - "spilt" - I didn't even notice it. My father would be so disappointed.

that site I put the link for says to freeze it by rubbing ice over it, breaking it off from the fabric then laundering the remaining stain with stain spray or oxyclean as you usually would.

I am boycotting Oxyclean. I know a lot of people that swear by it, but I have had bad luck with it. I was washing dd's clothes and there were a few things that I sprayed with it, I then added the liquid oxy wash stuff to the rest of the wash. When the clothes were done, there was blue stains where I had sprayed the Oxy. :grumble: They are still there, never got the out.
I kinda use it now tho, but it is that one that is split with spray 'n wash and you squeeze both out at the same time, that is a miracle treatment!!!

I keep getting blue spots on my clothes as well. Not sure where its coming from though. I put them in the wash with no spots an get them out with spots. And like ya say........they don't come out. And I don't use Oxy clean!! I have no idea what it is!!

a lot of times detergent can discolor clothing. always have several inches of water w/ soap in it before you add clothes. i normally fill the water all the way then add my clothes.

I always heard that you are supposed to do that but didn't know why. I never do because I'm to impatient to wait. But I guess from now on I will.
