View Full Version : Progesterone/protein question
I've been taking progesterone supplements for 2 weeks and am supposed to take them for another 2 weeks. They make me dizzy and massively tired..and I've been having terrible heartburn which we're pretty sure started when I began taking the prog. but I can't swear to it. I eat several small meals during the day b/c that seems to help a bit w/the heartburn. Sometimes at night after I take the prog. it makes me so sick I want to vomit. I've had my blood sugar tested when I was feeling shaky at work, and it was fine. I wonder if adding a protein shake would help. And can I mix it with milk? The Myoplex chocolate is my favorite, but I like it with 3 cups of skim milk..is that bad?? This pregnancy is so completely different than London, I'm at a total loss-and she was my first. I figured if anything, I'd feel like more of a tard during the first one, but with this one, I just don't know what to do.

I took progesterone with both of my kids as I had 2 prior miscarriages and my OB was a big believer in the prog. suppplements. They made me feel like crap too - I was very, very sick with both pregnancies in the first trimester. Try to get as much sleep as possible (sometimes easier said than done) and yes, eat as often as you feel like it.
I don't see a problem with Myoplex with 3 cups of skim milk - while pregnant, you aren't worrying about calories I hope. I mean, within reason but your body is in control at this point and you need to eat what makes you feel good. I also had terrible heartburn during my entire pregnancies. Spicy food and chocolate made it worse, apples made it better.

Yum myolplex! 3 cups of milk at one sitting is a lot but that being said if your calories are on target with that addition then all the power to you! I cut my milk with water because I like my carb calories to come mostly from complex carbs.
