another negative test question

OKay, I am 14 days past ovulation, I am about 5 days late for my period and I took a test yesterday morning and it was negative.Is that a pretty safe bet that i am not pregnant just late. The hormone would show up by now right. I have a 6 month old and 3 year old and would probably die if I was preggers. Thanks.

Well it's no guarantee that's for sure. I know plenty of women who were MUCH later before they ever tested positive, and some didn't show up until a blood test was done. Not to freak you out or anything. :D

I would go to the doc and ask for a blood test. They show positive even if the pee tests are still showing neg.

I have also heard that after you give birth and then also if you are breastfeedin or not, your cycle is crazy and very irregular. Some women don't get their periods back for months. Doesn't mean you are not ovulating, just means that counting days on the calendar is unreliable.

I didn't get my period back for over a year with each babe but I bet I was ovulating cause I felt somekinda monthly hormonal surge.

Thanks for your advice everyone but no need to worry anymore. A friend came to visit today. My cycle is probably still getting back on track from having the baby. Now I can go back to focusing on competing in 2007.
