Is chili considered clean? Also, what about bison burgers?

Does it matter?

I would think that beans are clean but I'm not sure about the ground meat if that's what you use. Maybe post the recipe?

Lean gr. beef, kidney beans, chick peas, mushrooms, tomatoes, some tomato paste. Just not sure if that's 'clean' or not?

I'm asking what difference it makes. It looks pretty healthy to me.

B/c if it's not clean, then I don't want to eat it.

Why can't ppl just answer the queston!?!

Look at the macros... protein, carbs, fat ... if it fits your nutrition plan ...EAT IT.

For the most part, I think chili is relatively clean. As long as the individual components that make up the chili are (clean)-- and you might want to rinse your ground beef if you are inclined to watching fat. The tomato paste is probably not clean.

Mushrooms in chili?

Because why would someone eat 100% clean 100% of the time? That's just craziness. :lol3:

No chili is not clean. Can you make a much better version? Absolutely. As for the Bison burgers, I would say that any ground meat you do not grind yourself is highly questionable. Just my .02.

But I'm saying it doesn't MATTER if its 'clean'. Who cares?

Look at the ingredients. Is it healthy? Looks like it.

Do the macros fit in your goals?

If so, eat it. 'Clean' is overrated.

I guess it depends on what you define as "clean". Clean seems to mean unprocessed, so the only thing on your list of ingredients that might be "unclean" would be the tomato paste. I wouldn't trash the whole meal over the tomato paste though. Rinse the meat after browning, add the rest of the ingredients and enjoy. I'll bump the clean foods list up for you.:)

I never said I did that. ? Why do people assume things?

Because you said you wouldn't eat it if it was not clean.

it looks healthy. Enjoy.

Clean seems to mean unprocessed, so the only thing on your list of ingredients that might be "unclean" would be the tomato paste.

A few years back, clean meant low fat, then during the low carb days, clean meant low carb. Currently clean means multiple things, to some it means 'unprocessed' except they are stupid as nearly every single food we consume has had some form of processing done to it... Others think its low GI, but dont like low GI sugars, others think its high fibre, others go on about unnatural stuff like trans fat, then get in a hissy because trans can be natural as well.

In other words, clean is a stupid concept.

Yep the concept does seem to change over time. Common sense must prevail at some point.
