Does anyone know what grocers carry this? Krogers and Walmart don't, and the only other place I found it was on Amazon, but the shipping was $20. Uh, no.

Why not eat the normal cottage cheese?

Have you eaten it before? I bought low sodium CC once and it tasted awful. I would never buy it again.

I'm not sure where you're located, but Wegman's carries Friendship's 1% no salt added variety of cottage cheese.

Sodium isn't the enemy, unless you're doing water manipulation for a weigh-in.

I found it once at king soopers, the big grocery chain out here that I htink partners with Kroger. I ended up salting the shit out of it.

exactly!
there is no need to cut sodium unless you have elevated blood pressure issues or reduced sodium diet is recommended by your doctor.
otherwise, ones body needs a balance of sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, along with other vitamins and minerals to function optimally.
Be sure to drink enough water.
sure one day you can over-do it on sodium and retain slight about of water but it will subside once your body reaches homeostasis again in a couple days.

I get Friendship 1% no salt added at Publix. They also carry it at Fresh Market, but it is much more expensive there. Friendship is the only brand with no salt added that I have found.

I'm not worried about sodium, I just hate the taste of salty cottage cheese. The no salt kind is easily mixed with pb and j, or yogurt, or fruit.. can you tell I like sweet foods?

I used to worry about salt too, until I learned otherwise. However, I also got used to the unsalted Friendship 1% Fat CC and like it. I initially got used to the saltless by weening myself w/ half n half. Now I am learning to like the salted kind again.

I agree, that unless you're about to compete the salt manipulation is not necessary and it's actually tastey to keep it in. :)

I'm not even sure how much a role it plays in blood pressure--the more I hear, the more it seems that is highly hereditary.

I love salt....

I accidently bought the no sodium cottage cheese once and it was disgusting. I had to mix it w/ normal cottage cheese to make it almost taste normal!
