I like the sprouted grain ones - I think it's Dempsters brand?
I love sprouted tortillas! Food for Life makes yummy ones!
when buying a whole grain tortilla- check label and be sure it is- minimal ingredients and no bleached flours.
less processing = better

Our Whole Foods doesn't have Food for Life Tortillas :(
Are either of these good? If so, which one is best?

I actually like the La Tortilla Factory ones. They're the only low carb tortillas I can stand.

I LOVE them, seriously - maybe better than normal. I use the equikel ones though - they are okay, they always break though and that pisses me off.

I love the La Tortilla factory tomato and basil, and rosemary ones for my lunch wraps. I also like the salsa and green onion kinds for my brekkie 'burritos'...they're yummy!
I agree, I LOVE the fact that they are so high in fiber too-it makes it much easier to get my daily fiber in!

If I remember correctly, I wasn't convinced of the numbers on the pkgs of the large ones so checked them and the values of the cals vs the carbs etc didn't add up..now this could have been printing fluke but seesm to me it is like the values they had listed on the large pkgs had to have been for the smaller tortillas?

yes - the la tortilla numbers are altered to reflect the fiber... for instance the large tortillas are printed as being 80 cal, 3fat, 19 carb, 14 fiber and 8 prot. the calories listed are the carb count less the fiber...

I think I am starting to only like the unhealthy tortillas . . the wheat ones just aren't doing it for me. :( Does anyone know a brand that tastes like the refined white flour kind but is really clean? Didn't think so, darn . . .

That's weird-my big torts from La Tortilla factory say 100 cals, 3 fat, 21 carb, 12 fiber, and 8 protein...(I wouldn't have known the difference if it said 80 though-I would never have thought to add everything up to see if it came up to the right amount of cals.)

i think they sell three different sizes. the package i have it the 8pk large, each one is 62gr... but i have had the 100 cal ones also.
look as though the 100 cal packs did he same thing with the calories...
so this is not correct, right?? the caloaries shoudl take into acct the fiber ( i think erik said that you could count them for half, i.e. 12 gr fiber would yield approx 6 cal???)

The ones Subway uses are by far the best tasting low carb tortillas. One of these days, I'm gonna buy a pack of them (I've heard of people actually buying them from Subway - they are not cheap though.)

I'm sorry to bring this up again. I don't mean to beat a dead horse----but I don't understand how fiber changes the carbs/calories. Could someone explain that to me! Thank you! :o

Insoluble fiber is only 2 cals/gram. Roughly.
Also has to do with how food calories are determined scientifically.
