Here are my recent thyroid results:

Free T4 - 1.07
Free T3 - 3.39 (I think this is what I heard)
Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies - 29

Thoughts?

The only thing that seems off there is the Free T4. Are you sure you heard that right or typed it right?

I called the lab for the ranges and they seemed confused. Nonetheless, here are the ranges:

TSH - .350 to 5.500
Free T4 - 0.70 to 1.53
Free T3 - 2.3 to 4.2

They mentioned something about the ranges being age specific.

Thanks again.

No. Aren't they great. I present most symptoms of hypothyroid, even though I don't think my result point in that direction.

if those antibodies are high, that could be why.

Not sure what the range of your tests are though. My levels were midrange/":normal" but because i had all the symptoms and high antibodies, i was able to get treatment for hashi's (an autoimmune version)

I posted the ranges, but where ever I go, I get told I'm normal (I know, not the antibodies are posted). I just don't believe it. I supposedly have one of the best endos in the state, if not the country, yet I'm still struggling to get answers.

try to get the lab range for the antibodies.. every lab is diffent. Mine at 32 were high, when less than 2 was normal.

Have you had your ferritin tested?

Yes, Iron has been tested and I struggling with deficiency. I just had a hematocrit and that came back at 40%.

low iron will mimic many of the symptoms of thyroid disease.

Hope you can get your levels up. :)

My endo has mention thyroid supression therapy. Does anyone know much about this? Should I make a push for thyroid meds?

sounds to my he's talking about thyoid meds. I'd definitely look into in if he is willing to do it. He isnt going to give med if they arent needed.

Do let us know what happens. :)

Inatic, do you know what thyroid suppression means? I've tried researching it and really couldn't find anything. Thank you for all your help.

Ok, I called about the ranges for my antibodies.

The test came back at 29 for the antibodies and the range is 0-34. Guess I'm a little high. I was finally given Armour. We'll see how it goes.

Paige, I'm assuming this is a good thing? I sure hope so. I really hope I am finally on the right track here. What is most bizzare is that another nurse said 29 for the antibodies was considered normal. Doesn't 29 see HIGH on a scale of 0-34? Maybe it's just me.

I'll keep things posted here as I progress with the Armour. Thanks to everyone for the continued support. I can't thank you enough.

I absolutely think it's a good thing! :thumb: I'm on Armour and love what it's done for me so far. Still working on finding my optimal dose.
I don't really know much about the antibodies.....

WOot for you.

My antibodies range was different. I was over and out of range which FINALLY got a dr to give meds.

I take synthoid and cytomel. How much Amour did they give you? Some people find that they might have to split the dose when first starting. The T3 made my heart race even at the smallest dose, prolly cause my adrenals were taxed (most hypo T's are somewhat)

Make sure you tested again in 6-8 wks for Ft3 and Ft4.
