What should be done to keep it in tip top shape? Which products or home remedies work well?

Is your whole body oily? Or are you talking about your face? (This is what I'm guessing anyway.)
Depending on my TOM I get very oily skin all over my body. I usually shower 2x day during these days. Dove soap is apparently good for all skin types. It seems to work OK for me. On my face, I exfoliate using the St. Ives apricot scrub once a day, and toner if it's really oily. I am trying a new birth control pill next cycle to see if it helps my skin.

I use Clinique products-
Only beacuse I worked for them like 100 years ago and I got free stuff- now I have to buy it.
But, I really like it- and I've always had oily skin. They have all kind of stuff for us!
I use Mary Kay Oil Mattifier under my makeup. I have VERY oily skin, so nothing I use really helps for very long. Oily skin is good though, less wrinkles. I've been using Bare Minerals makeup and that seems to work better the most liquid makeup. Dudley also makes an oil absorbing lotion that works pretty good.

I've heard alot about that Bare Minerals, although I've never tried it- Is it a skincare line? Or a makeup? I never wear makeup.
If I have on mascara and lipgloss, I feel like I'm going to the prom. :shades:

I'll agree with this. I hated my oily skin growing up, with my big pores and all. It was only in the last few years that I realized oily skin is a blessing as you age. Skin doesn't wrinkly as much, or as fast. Embrace it!!!!
I find that there aren't really any products that decrease the oilyness for me. Although I am religious about using cleanser, toner, alpha hydroxy treatment, moisturizer, sunscreen. I don't leave the house without powder. And I always carry those blotting sheets with me. Great for getting rid of shine without caking on more makeup.
A friend of mine swears by those blotting sheets Clsupnorth mentioned. They sure seemed to work well from what I saw. I believe she got hers at The Body Shop.

I use Bare Minerals makeup & Murad cleansers at home. I have been getting weekly facials with Pevonia products. Yes facials are a bit costly but if you have a beauty school in your town that has esthetics it is only 20-30 a time. It is soooo worth it!!!

I third the blotting tissues. They are sold pretty much any place that sells cosmetics these days. I get mine from Walmart, Walgreens, Target, etc. They are a good alternative to powder b/c they just remove the oil and don't add any color or product to your face. I alternate them with my pressed powder compact throughout the day.

I have oily skin, and the BHA (beta hydroxy acids) help control the oil.
I've also heard Milk of Magnesia helps, too (and it's very cheap!).
Queen Helene Mint Julip mask helps.
Finding the right foundation for oily skin helps.
During the summer when my skin is very oily thanks to all the humidity, I find using a silicone primer on my face helps to keep my makeup from sliding off. Also, the MAC blotting powder works well to help tame oilies throughout the day.
And I have to agree with the others about oily skin being a blessing as you get older. I'm 41 and I have very few wrinkles.

My one piece of advice is to moisturize...I would never moisturize because I was like, "Well, my skin is oily enough without more gunk on it." But once I started to regularly moisturize, it cleared everything up. Just use something meant for oily skin.
Right now, I use stuff from Bath & Body Works because I get a discount on it...it works pretty well.
I use this (http://www.bathandbodyworks.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2095277&cp=2073252.2201566.2078965&parentPage=family)

I like Philosophy 'On a Clear Day' cleanser. I have oily skin, break out, and because I am in my 40's, have to deal with aging skin. Philosophy seems to be working very well for me and my combination skin.

I'll agree with that, too. It definately makes a difference, using a moisturizer for oily skin. I grew up thinking, God - why would I want to lather grease on my already greasy face? But there's a reason why.... it helps.

Sorry if you've mentioned this - but what moisturizers do you ladies use? I've been using the Olay Regenerist enhancing lotion.. but I'm not sure - it seems to be making me break out even more... I've got the lovely oily/crazy acne-prone/sensitive skin combo - NICE!
Anyone have any suggestions???

Well, when I'm not using self-tanner, I use Artistry moisturizers (I use the night one for at night, daytime one for the day). But for the last year or so I've been using Neutrogena Build-A-Tan Face as my moisturizer, and it works great with my oily skin. So I get a double bonus - a tan and nice skin.
