Does anyone else here have low blood pressure? Mine is quite low, I've had readings as low as 90/55, and because of that I get headaches, dizziness, and I feel lightheaded quite often. My research, as well as questioning medical staff has turned up nothing. I've talked to many doctors and pharmacists, and not one of them could give me a suggestion. Everyone comes up with the same answer. Low blood is good unless you have headaches and it causes dizziness, but it stops there and doesn't provide any further information.

I've been told just to be careful getting out the shower and other things where I have to bend over, but there's the odd time it causes a problem doing weights. I've fallen over because of this and I'm worried I'll hurt myself one time.

I do have sodium in my diet, is there anything else I can do for myself? I'll try anything

Normal for me is 100/65.
Definitely keep the sodium and water intake high, avoid, moving quickly with your head down, and be aware of it. Several years ago when I investigated it further, I was told that a prescription heart med was the only "medical" answer. It also happened to have a lot of side effects. So no thanks, I'll salt my food and move carefully.
Best wishes

I have low blood pressure, and pretty much have to say 'ditto' to what Sunshine said. Also, HIGH blood pressure runs in my family, so I'm pretty happy with what I've got (and keep strict tabs on it!).

I do.

I add sodium, which helps. When its really low it can be 85/55. But since the sodium, it seems to be better....last time I got it checked it was 90/70 and I said: wow, its high! LOL! The nurse was shocked.

Sunshine gave good advice. Also, just be sure you eat throughout the day....the worst combination is low blood pressure and hypoglycemia.

Another 90/50 person. After I had my twins, my body had a few problems and my blood pressure became so high they had to put me on blood pressure medicine. YUK I felt terrible on the stuff. Luckily my bp resolved itself back to my normal reading.

Mine is also really low, I get really excited when I see 100  My doctor basically told me to consider myself lucky (HBP runs in my family) and that young fit women often have low BP. I didn't know about the sodium thing though, so I think I will start salting my foods and see if the makes a difference.

Hmm....weird i got the same problem.

They have the AC on at work and i'm freezing all the time!
I even wear mittens! :(

I've also got poor blood circulation.

The thing i find that affects me the most is when i perform exercises with my arms in the air especially incline chest press, my arms get numb and sore before i can finish my 10 reps.
I can feel all the blood rushing down afterwards.
Uhh i hate this

I also am low (about 90/60). It's funny because I get headaches fairly often and occasional dizziness but never associated it with low BP because I've never had a doctor tell me anything about it other than "your BP is low. Is that normal for you?" Even when I smoked 2 packs a day and drank a pot of coffee a day it was that low.

I'm similar! I used to be a saltaholic, if anything you'd think my BP would be high? I haven't totally cut it out and yet it's still low. Weird!

Low bp can be related to hypothyroidism. I have both.
