Is there a difference between training for strength or training strictly to gain muscle mass? I know the answer is probably obvious so I'll apologize in advance.:lol3: Wouldn't gain in both strength and muscle mass irregardless of which goal you choose?

For max strength, concentrate on getting stronger in the lower rep ranges (1-3). For size, concentrate on getting stronger in the medium rep ranges (5-10).

Yeah, whichever route you go, you'll get both types of adaptations, just in different proportions.

Volume and the whole fitness fatigue model sort of thing does play a role but only when one surpasses the beginner stage.

Too often, many loose sight of the fact that you have increase the amount of weight on the bar over time.
