Okay, so I was going to do a search on o2 but its down...blah
I have not yet purchased a digital food scale - but its on my list of items to purchase prior to moving out of my parents house and into an apartment w/ the boyfriend....
when measuring sweet potatoes, do you measure before or after you cook?
and with meat, you measure it raw (like 7oz) but after cooking it shrinks to 5oz. do you use the 7 oz measurement or the 5oz measurement?
and say you have 3/4 C brown rice, is that cooked brown rice or raw brown rice?
etc. see what I'm getting out and what i'm so confused about? :baby:
thanks in advance
rachel.

You eat your food cooked, then measure it cooked.

I measure my sweet potato raw but everything else cooked.
Why, you ask? Well, I use sweet potato for most of my protein pancakes and I got used to cutting off the number of ounces I needed and nuking it.
But if I eat them like with chicken or whatever, then I guess I do measure it cooked...

I measure everything cooked except for oatmeal I measure out dry first by grams.
I am also looking for a digital scale. How detailed does it need to go? Is 1g OK? Or should it measure to the 1/2 g?

1g is more than precise enough.
