I just finished eating lunch about an hour ago, and I am starved already, what gives?

I had 3oz chicken, 1/2c rice and brocolli... This happens everyday after lunch and I eat about the same thing everday. :curse: (just had to use the smilie)

Maybe you should try adding a bit more broccoli and rice. 1/2 cup of both combined isn't much.

Sorry, it was 1/2 cup of rice and at least a cup of brocolli

Quite often I find when I eat really clean, I get hungry a lot faster.

anyway you can switch it with a meal so you have some fat in there??

Are dieting down? When you eat sub-maintenance for a while without a 'break', you will get hungrier. I think it has something to do with leptin levels. All I know is that I just finished eating a serving of tilapia and some veggies and I'm still really hungry!! Can you eat more veggies? I brought some green beans to munch on till my next meal.

how about adding a salad, if you cant add more of anything else?

Veggies are free. At what point or what amt do they start to count? Could add more veggies too.

The diet that my trainer has me on, does not allow for much/if any added fat. Not really 'dieting down', but dieting. I have one cheat day a week and that was this past Saturday.... But please don't remind me :barf:

I was going to suggest that... I love baby spinach, peppers, mushrooms, cucumbers, balsamic vingrette..

adds a bit more bulk to the meal w. minimal calories.

Lol. I am allowed a cheat meal once a week on my plan but the last 2 have turned into binges (and I've nearly barfed after both times). It's so weird because I've never binged before in my life!! Everyone around me is amazed at how disciplined I am but I was so disappointed that I actually did what I did. So now, I'm not going to have anymore cheat meals; it just messes me up. When I get hungry though, I just eat more green veggies. How much damage could an extra cup of broccoli do?

Add more veggies.

And what's this about little to no added fat? You need to eat fats.

That's the problem.

Fat doesn't make you fat. You NEED fat. it keeps you full, is good for your health, etc.

Eat some fat.

I get heartburn alot after I eat and it feels like I am still hungry and I want to eat something to calm it but I know I had plenty to eat, so I just take an antacid or Nexium. Of course this may not be your problem but you never know, it took me a while to figure this out b/c it felt like hunger.

Ok, so what kind of fat would I add to something like that? You want healthy fats, right?

But if I am having chicken, rice and brocolli, I am not sure that egg yolkes or nuts would be very tasty with it.

I do drizzle my chicken breasts with olive oil when I bake it tho, is that enough?

Nuts would be yummy with that.

And a drizzle of olive oil when cooking your chicken is not enough. You need to get fat from a variety of sources.

It depends on your plan and your macros for ea meal. Without knowing that, it's hard to advise.

I often dont combine fats when im having starchy carbs (but that's me. I had done a stint of food combining and lots of reading or Berardi)

I'd probably go with a salad/dressing or a nice piece of avocado in that case. You could put some almonds finely chopped in the rice or sprinkled on the brocc.. Not sure how they feel about the edition of butter on this bb, but it's an option on the broc as well.

Well, butter would be my ideal fat source for a meal like this... :innocent:
