Has anyone read this book? I remember it was mentioned a couple of times on :o2: and was considering purchasing it. I think it's supposed to be geared to those of us who regularly exercised before pregnancy.
But...I don't want to invest in a book that tells me a bunch of stuff I already know. Like....listen to your body...stop when it says stop, and go when it says go. I know that if you're active before, you can keep up the same routine, adjusting as necessary...
So is it worth buying? Is anyone even familiar with it?

I've got this and I found it extremely useful the first time through, when I didn't know that much. I recommend it as a reaffirming pro-exercise read based on research, but as you said you know a fair bit already. Can you see the chapter headings at Amazon? If not I can type them up for you.
The things I found really useful were
- how the mother's body changes during pregnancy and what this means for exercise.
- benefits for the mother
- benefits for the baby
- how to prescribe the right amount of exercise/plan modification
- research based dos and don'ts
- contraindications
- effect of diet and exercise on lactation

I think I may just puchase it. Even if it is a bunch of stuff I already know, it's nice to have the research to read. I also find that when I read about exercise, it tends to reinvoigorate my passion for it. And it's only $12, so why not?!
Thank you for your comments!!

I am not pregnant, but I am trying to become pregnant. I thought this book was very informative and as an avid exerciser, it was nice to see that it is possible to exercise throughout your pregnancy without any ill effects.

I don't think it would be good to have the clap if you're pregnant...
