I could eat corn for days, but can't find whether it's clean or not. I would assume that since it's a veggie, it is, but you know what they say about "assume". If it's a no-no, I'd like to know. Thanks!
I've always heard it's a no-no.....Corn (http://nutritiondata.com/facts-B00001-01c20cy.html)

Corn is clean, it's a vegetable isn't it?
I think your question is more along the lines of "is it ok to eat?" than "is it clean?" Corn has a higher sugar content than most veggies, so just watch your intake. And definetly count it in your totals.

Yep, Northernstar, that should've been my question. Thanks for the quick response.
Hmmm....guess I just can't eat corn for day!
I would think that corn is clean but you need to consider it more of a starchy carb than a fibrous one.

Corn is actually a grain and I don't believe it's considered clean. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I grew up in corn country and love the stuff (but never ever eat it).

Why would corn not be "clean"? That's absurd. It's a vegetable. Vegetables are clean. It's a starchy veggie so treat it as such, but yeah, it's a freaking vegetable, people.

Everything has it's place. If you're cutting corn might be something you eat on high carb day or during a refeed. When I was bulking I ate quite a bit of it to help me get my calories up. My definition of clean has to do more with not eating processed food so in my world corn is clean but I use it when I need to add carbs and I want to avoid processed foods like pasta.

They get painful sometimes. How do you remove them?

As far as I know, I'm not allowed corn. Probably the sugar.

About the "sugar":
Carrots, corn, potato etc are starchy. Carbs are largely made up of sugars. Although they do have other macromolecular substances. Carbs are classified according to the number of monosaccharide groups they contain. For example, you can have monosaccharides, disaccharies etc. These are sugars. Fiber is another component of carbohydrate makeup.
Review: Choosing veggies that are low in calories and have a very high fiber content will not, in reasonable amounts, affect your blood sugar or add excess calories. Plus, they add nutrients and keep you feeling full.. and your digestive system in top working order.
Choosing starchy veggies provide sugars for energy and storage of energy (or fat, if too many are consumed) in the form of glycogen. They do have significant calories and a marked effect on blood sugar.
SO, my point, long-winded though it is... corn is not sugar. It is made up of sugars... but it's a freaking vegetable. Many carbs are made up of sugars. These are not the same sugar that is processed liek in a snickers.
When people get all worked up over corn, they're taking it too far. Want it? Have it. But have it in place of a starchy carb and be mindful of the glycemic load. Example: 1/4c of corn will have a far different effect on your body than 2 cups of corn in terms of blood sugar response. And that's what this is really about.

Good...then I can have corn, but not as much as I like. If cut loose, I could eat a bag of corn all by myself!

Haha uhh yup exactly? People need to pay attention to the definition of clean in terms of diet. I mean there may be better choices, but if you like it, I'm pretty damn sure it is clean.

My gosh! I used a poor choice of words, for goodness sakes. Everybody else seemed to understand what I meant. Besides, I did say that I should've used a different phrase.

Nah it wasn't you really, I think a couple of other people mentioned it wasn't clean or were questioning it, which seems kind of funny.
