I usually soak them overnight, and just cook them up sometime the next day. I forgot to put them in water last night, but I got them in this morning around 9ish. So, that means they've been soaking about 9 hours so far. Is that enough? I was going to cook them in a crock pot on high setting.

It also depend of the kind of dried beans that you are using. Nine hours should be fine for lentils. If you are using chickpeas or black beans, you may want to let them soaking for a little bit more longer. Otherwise, it will just take a little bit longer to cook.

That's fine. You can also do the fast method: boil them and then let them sit for two-three hours.

Mark, nice legs.

Anyway, back on topic. I let beans soak for a very long time... 10-12 hours. They are always hard if I do it for less.
