I am not pregnant nor do I intend to be in the next year or two, BUT pre and post natal nutrition is very interesting to me. Anyone have any suggestions on great reads?
Thanks

The What To Eat When You Are Expecting book I thought was a good read(not to be confused with the What to Expect When You are Expecting book). It advocated a higher protein diet, no junk. It's a tough diet to follow, but if you're looking for the best for your baby with no BS about it being easy or crap about white bread being good for you, this is an interesting read. You can check it out at the library normally. The authors changed their stance a bit in their later What to Expect When you are Expecting books in response to the food pyramid, but the original book was pretty solid. I believe they may have based their original diet on Tom Brewer's research on preeclampsia(a higher protein diet may prevent preeclampsia). I heard a lot of complaining from women that this diet was too difficult to follow, kinda like you sometimes hear people on some boards complain about a clean diet being difficult to follow. But the diet makes sense and is seriously healthy. They have sections on prenatal nutrition, diet while breastfeeding, special situations etc. Hope this helps!

That is a good one.
Nutrition for a Healthy Pregnancy (has a prepregancy chapter as well as chapters for each trimester) is another good one.

The What To Eat When You Are Expecting book
I've found the "What to..." books to be very informative and on point.
