If you don't get enough sleep, does it pretty much throw your workout out the window? I know sleep is very important in regards to muscle recovery and rest. Last night I had a little bit too much water to drink before bed(big mistake). As a result, I couldn't fall asleep for 2 hours, because I had to pee so often. The time I went to bed, I should've gotten 8 hours of sleep, but ended up only getting approx.5.5-6 hours. I had a pretty tough workout yesterday, so I wasn't surprised to wake up really sore, but I'm guessing I wouldn't be AS sore, had I slept more.
Am I pretty much just 'throwing away'(so to speak) my workout, since I got a lack of sleep? Any thoughts? Thanks.

I wouldn't say your wasting your workout. Just hit the sack a little earlier the next night. I'm pathetic, I still require 8-10 hrs/night. I can funtion with less but eventually it catches up to me and I crash.

I hope not because these days, between kids and school, I survive on 6 hours of sleep a night.

You're fine. My sleep is consistently screwed up, and my progress has been fine ;)

Well that's definitely a relief to hear..haha. I get so paranoid when I can't sleep properly, because I work hard enough-I deserve to see results! I don't want a little lack of sleep to ruin that. :p Thanks!

A little lack of sleep won't ruin much... a lot of sleep deprivation will. Your body is doing a lot of recovering while sleeping, but as far as I've been told, 8 hours is plenty. (I should be 200lbs of Rock Hard Solidness by now from sleeping 12 straight the last week!!) But alas, my measly 140lb off season weight will just have to wait until next year...
