Anyone with any thoughts on, if a leg workout is in the morning and HIIT in the pm, how long should the HIIT workout be after the training?

How long would you normally do HIIT for?

The usual, about 10-15 intervals.

I wouldn't decide on the length of my HIIT according to my training.

Oh no, I don't mean to ask how long should the actual hiit workout be, how long after doing the training should you wait or could you wait, does it make a difference, before you do the interval training?

you could do it directly after, if you want.

Sometimes I'll do HIIT right after legs. It's not the most fun thing to do but it works.

Ideally separated by as many hours and meals as possible....which usually means 2 (meals). Otherwise, right after is fine if you have to do it then

I do my leg training in the am and HIIT pm. there's no way i can do them together. my body is shot. and if i can do them together, in my mind i feel i didn't work my legs hard enough...but that's just me.

I always do my leg training then HIIT right after, it is tough but I do not have time to split it up.

Depends on what you're doing it for. The generic fat-loss oriented HIIT is going to be best served away from strength training for both adaptational and nutritional reasons, but the funny bit is you could actually do it at the end of a leg-training session as a bit of additional volume.

This is actually what I did, so thanks Leah.

Well I didn't want to start a new thread just to say this so I figured I would just throw it in here...sorry! I did HIIT for the first time since I severely sprained my ankle back in July. It felt so good and I was impressed that I was still able to sprint at a 4% incline at 10.5 mph for 12 sprints and I think I could have done better but I wanted to be a little safe. The ankle feels kind of sore but no real pain. YAY I'm so excited. Just wanted to share!

What about if you do them in reverse? HIIT in the am and train in the p.m? A certain someone that we all love and respect told me to wait at least 6 hrs in between. Not a problem so far, but does make my p.m workout end up being quite a bit later than I'd like, especially on a Sunday. I guess I just need to get up earlier to do HIIT.
