on good morning america there was a short snippet of a story about a woman with two uteruses who gave birth to a set of twins from one, and another baby from the other-at the same time!!!
for the life of me, i cannot find a link to the story, but apparently the 2 uterus and 2 vagina thing is more common than i thought.
very bizarre!

wow!
I wonder if she had two vaginas or just one?
I've heard of women giving birth to babies that were conceived weeks apart which I thought was pretty cool, but that is just amazing!!

That is both weird and cool...
I mean, what a weird health condition, but 3 babies - what a blessing!
DH freaked out last night because he realized how lucky we are that we were able to conceive with almost no effort or planning - so many people have to go through so much, and still never get there...

I've heard of it because I have this condition - it is called a mullerian anomaly and it is genetic. My uterus was divided in half by a septum, creating 2 uterine cavities, and I had to have surgery to remove the dividing septum as I had several miscarriages (the pregnancies continued to impant on the septum, where they could not thrive). Once I had surgery, I carried both my boys to term. They are now 3 and 13 months old.
I also have a septum dividing my vagina and I have 2 cervices. And 1 kidney which is also related to this anomaly. It is rare in that only 3% of the population is known to have it (men can have a type of mullerian anomaly as well). Prior to my surgery I had a diagnostic test where a camera was inserted through both of my cervices. It hurt like hell (I was awake for this), but I actually got to see the inside of my uterus(es), which was pretty amazing.
And nope, no double orgasms (too bad). Glad I didn't have 3 babies at once though, like this woman!

Wow. I am so glad that you were able to have your children. Sorry that you had to go through all that.

i first heard of this condition a couple months ago, and now it's all over the place! Good Morning America and last week on Grey's Anatomy, which I never watch, but decided to since my hubby likes it now.
Very interesting!
