My little sister thinks she might be pregnant.

I thought she was overreacting, since it is has only been about a week since it could have happened. But yesterday she was spotting and then last night threw up for a good couple of hours.

Are these symptoms of pregnancy? Can you really tell this early? If she went in to get a bloodtest, would it show now?

How long b/f her cycle is due?

A blood test would probably show if she has elevated HCG levels. I think it was about a week after in-vitro they did blood tests on SIL, may have been less than that.

Spotting can occur during implantation of the embryo to the uterus, and of course vomiting is a classic sign. It could be, though it would be extremely early to tell. Maybe your little sis is worrying herself sick?

She could be. Although she is not really the worrying herself sick type...she leaves the high-anxiety behaviors to me.

But that's good to know she can get a blood test. I am going to suggest it to her so that she doesn't have to wait another two weeks to know.

Well, hope it turns out the way she would want.

After I did IVF I had my blood test 13 days after, but if she is pregnant it is awfully early to be sick.

another two weeks.
if she is due to have a period in 2 weeks, then most likely she is just now ovulating. (some women ovulate earlier or later, but the typical, normal ovulation occurs around day 14 in a 28 day cycle.) I ovulate on day 17 though and my sister on day 9, and we've both gotten pregnant just fine.

I also didn't start feeling sick until I was 6 weeks along, (all dates are referred to in terms of since your last monthly period).

I spotted on week 9 of my pregnancy, which I thought was late for implantation spotting, but doc said it can happen at anytime.

I used an "early response" test and got a positive on the same morning my period was due. I called the doc and asked if I needed a blood test, but they said they just use the pee tests too.

Good luck- like TheresaK said, hope it goes the way she wants!
