Yay or nay for PWO carbs??

I'd say there are many better choices for PWO carbs such as white/brown rice, yams, potatos, oats, etc....

So somebody correct me if I’m wrong – but why not? From what I’ve been told/read you don’t want a fibrous carb PWO. You need something your body can utilize quickly. Lots of ppl around here use rice cakes PWO. Those are simple. I say go for it.

I would eat cheerios PWO :D

But....probably not on a pre-comp

Thanks. I thought they'd be okay, since rice cakes are (for PWO). I'm not pre-comp, so Cheerios it is! :D

May I ask...why not? Since you need simple carbs PWO anyway, why would it matter if you are pre-comp? What would you eat then?

I think it's b/c the leaner you get, the more food quality can have an impact on getting even leaner.

Right?

Because 1...T would never give me cheerios on a pre-comp diet and 2...the amount that I would be allowed to remain w/in caloric limits would not fill me up.

My mom recently told me that apparently cheerios is the best cereal out there because of it's shape. It passes through the intestines really well....riiiiight. Just smile and nod. Right mom.

People kill me with that one! I was just having this very "argument" with my best friend last week! I was getting so pissed because she wouldn't let up about it. She kept saying that overweight people need to just do cardio to get rid of the fat before they start weight training or "that" will happen! I told her to go ahead and believe those lies if that is what she wants to do! Now keep in mind, this is the same person that accuses me of being obsessed with my clean eating and working out all the time! I don't think it's obsessed, just a healthy lifestyle...and I feel great, so that's all that matters!

Anyway....sorry to get off of the cheerios topic, but I had to get that off of my chest! WHEWWWWWWWWW!!!!! Thanks for letting me vent!

Nothing wrong with a bit of hijacking…

So other night my cousin calls me. She falls under the category of “skinny fat”. Anyway – I was cooking dinner at the time and so we got on the conversation of food. She couldn’t possibly understand how I was eating soo much and still dropping weight. LOL. It was kinda funny.

I know what you mean kiwi . This same friend keeps asking if I am eating??? I told her that I eat all the time!! She doesn't get it....and when I try to explain it and encourage her to "jump on the clean eating wagon" the conversation gets a bit heated. Not sure why she is resisting so much, but hey, it's not my body!

The same thing with people at work....always "teasing" that I eat so much and stay so small! Again, I try to explain, but they don't get it either! It is funny!

The guys I have working for me think it is the greatest thing ever that I eat so much. They all complain that their wives/gfs never eat. They are also shocked about the amazing shrinking Sarah. I think one described it as the "eating-est diet he's ever seen"
My SO loves how much I eat, too. He was like, "I've never seen such a tiny person eat so much food". I guess that would freak out some girls but I like it, haha. He is into working out too so he understands my need for frequent meals :train: [/b][/quote]
Frequent meals rock! :flex:
