I am wondering if anyone gets really sick after a cheat meal?

Last night I did my cheat of pizza, I had two slices, and got really sick. Others in the family didn't get sick off it, so I doubt it is food poisoning or anything. But I got a real sore tummy, on the right side (I was thinking I was having a gallbladder attack or something), then tossed and turned all night before :puke: at 3am. I am still feeling absolutely shity today - nothing really to eat. I tried to have my protein pancakes, but couldn't even finish one. I had an apple, and that seemed to be okay. I am just about to try some soup. Hopefully that will stay in me!

I am feeling guilty, cause two weeks ago I missed an entire weekend due to the stomach flu. I wondering if it is still hanging around  but I don't think so, I have been feeling good since.

Thanks in advance!

Exactly.

Me too - a few of my cheats have made me feel sick-ish afterwards.

This sometimes happens to me when I'm just not used to eating something rich.

Deep fried food does that to me lately. I can handle pizza, though-- thankfully!

Was the hurting on the right side on the top or lower part of your tummy?

I don't get sick after a cheat - ever. I wish I did sometimes. Bloated? yes. Sick? nope

No, not until the coaxing has been mastered.

Only for me.

I am like this as well, but my sister is convinced its more psychological then physiological.

Have you ever had this happen before after a high fat meal? Ever any gallbladder issues?

Go eat more pizza and tell me if it happens again.:hehe:

May I ask what the pain felt like?

I think its both. For me, I just haven't had junk food in so long it makes me feel lethargic and icky. Its harder for me to digest.

Only way to fix it is to eat lots of it, LOL!

I'd put a call in to your doc and stay away from fatty foods until you get it checked out. I had a gall bladder attack in my 20's after eating bacon and the pain was excruciating, so much so that I have never again eaten another piece of bacon. I cringe even looking at it. Does anyone in your family have a history of gall bladder attacks? Anyone had it removed?

Painful tummy sounds more like IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) from eating the wrong foods. Had this a couple of days ago when I tried whey protein once again. Don't get it from eating a bag of potato crisps. So clean vs junk food comparisons don't always work out that way.

But pain in the upper right quadrant, under the ribs is very characteristic of gallbladder.....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't IBS pain lower - in the intestinal area?

Yes, but intestines are all over.
Upper right quadrant is that the upper right for the person or when looking at that person? I had that happening yesterday and the pain was on the upper right for me, upper left for someone looking at me.

Upper right for you...

Intestines are all over, but typically considered lower quadrant. Note the location of the gall bladder in the upper right quadrant.

Edit - sorry it's super hard to read that

Nope never happened like this before. I have felt aweful after eating high fat foods...but not to this extent, especially with the pain and puking. But hey, ya never know.

I did actually go to the doctor, because it didn't really pass until later Saturday afternoon. She pretty much told me it could be Gallstones, gallbladder issues, ulcers or just plain old ate too much grease for what my belly can handle. That's what you get when you eat clean. I do however, have an ultrasound next week scheduled with an Upper GI. No fun there. But at least it will give me a clearing. Which, I am sure I am.

My problem today, blood in the urine.

As for pizza, not really interested anymore, KWIM.

Got looked at and have an US and UGI scheduled for next week. No one in the family with history or removal either.

Yup, the pain was right where the gallbladder is on your pic Ali. Feel better today though! thank goodness! It was aweful. Even had some pain in my back area, more around the kidneys (have had issues with those for about 10 years) and now today, have blood in the urine. Used to that though.

I used to get stomach bloating problems after cheats.

Now that I'm pregnant and not eating as strict as I was .. I noticed that when I added milk back into my diet I was getting really bad IBS-like pains. I think my body is used to it now, but getting back into eating dairy and other things I wasn't used to made my body go a little nuts. I probably have an intolerance
