For the past 6 months I have been working out to gain muscle and have seen some good results(thanks to Erik), but now that summer and swimsuit season is around the corner I want to lose the excess fat and keep my muscle. What should I do?

1. keep my calories where it is right now and start doing cardio a couple times a week? If I should start incorporating cardio, should it be SS cardio or HIIT cardio? How many times a week?

2. Should I cut carbs a little bit?

3. Should I keep my workouts doing heavy weights with low reps?

Thanks for the help,

Cinnamon

Are you still working with Erik?

No, unfortunately some things came up and I had to stop. By the way Ali, you look awesome. I was reading your blog last night and telling my husband how good you look. Hopefully, some day I can look like you.

You need to eat at submaintenance to lose fat. Add in cardio only as needed.

HIIT is preferable for fat loss. I'd start with two sessions of HIIT and maybe one SS session.

Keep up with the heavy weights and low reps and reduce the volume.
