i meant to post this days ago but i forgot!
i managed to squat 100lbs (2x2) for the first time ever last week! it was amazing!
i've tried it again since but only managed 85lbs!:shrug:guess i was just having a good day! or maybe it was because i wasn't dieting!
i've gone from 35-50-ishlbs to 100lbs (or 85lbs, depends how you look at it lol) since jan with 5x5! i can't believe how much progress i've made!
my goal now is for my deadlift to improve. i'm pulling anything from 65-90lbs  i KNOW i could pull more but my back hurts so much the next day that i won't even go there!
just wanted to share that i'm getting strrrong!
:woohoo:

Do becareful with those deads. If your back is hurting, your form is prolly off on the heavy wt.

When you pull with plates that are lighter than the 45s it forces you to get lower to start the pull. Maybe that's why it's hurting your back so much.
Maybe you should consider doing rack pulls until you're strong enough to pull with the big plates.
 Great job on squats!

 thanks everyone! it's great to have people understand how good this feels!
i've said it before and i'll say it again, i couldn't have done it without the advice and support from you, so thanks!
Robben, thanks, i've made consistency my aim at all times, both with my eating and my training!

thanks for the advice! that's my biggest problem right now, my gym is still closed. i've bought some secondhand BBs (preset weights) to work with in the basement of my building (yup, my floor would collapse if i took them up to my appartment ) so i don't have access to a power rack.
you're right about my pulling from the floor, i either use my DBs or the BBs and i create 'blocks' to place them on so that they're a bit higher when i start the pull... but methinks it's still too low!
i'm still trying to practice my form just in case that's the actual problem. either way, i'll figure something out until i can find a gym and proper equipment to work with!!!

Does your gym have bumper plates? They're the size of 45 plates, but are 10lbs. I DL with those.

This is one of the keys to success. One of the major reasons people don't succeed in reaching their goals is lack of consistency. Kudos to you. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v614/montagnu/ellis/clapping.gif

sigh! my gym has been closed since last july (i think) and i'm working out in the basement of my building and my living room right now! i'm making the situation work but i'm hoping it will re-open or that a new gym will open up soon coz it would make my life a lot easier since there's no where else i can train! there isn't even a weight room at the local college! :(
