What's the absolute longest one should wait to have a PWO meal after working out? Sometimes I eat an hour before I workout, so I don't want to eat my PWO meal TOO soon afterward, b/c then I'm left with only one meal for the rest of the night and... I get hungry! At the same time, I know there is a "golden" window of time, and I don't want to miss it by waiting too long. Thanks, everyone.
The sooner the better, every hour that goes by you are decreasing the benefits of that p/w meal. I don't know the longest time but I wouldn't wait that just goes against everything I ws taught, that's why it's a post work out meal.
I usually start my PWO meal about 2 minutes after I finish my workout.:lol3:
I have heard up to an hour, but the sooner the better.

I wait a max of 30 minutes, but most of the time I eat my PWO meal as soon as I finish training.

I usually wait 5-10 minutes max., that is the time it takes for me to go back to the locker room, grab my stuff and get my protein shake and PWO carbs. I'm usually hungry PWO anyway, so it is never a problem for me to eat afterwards.
To the original poster: could you re-arrange your schedule a bit so that you lift a bit later or get more meals afterwards?

how about the reverse. Like on mondays I eat my 1st meal at about 7:15 and then I have to go volunteer in my sons classroom and don't get to the gym until about 9:30, is this too long?

I think so, I try and eat half an hour to one hour prior no later than that

Sometimes I'll talk shop with the training partners for a half hour / 45 minutes before I get home, and when I get home, I'll hop in the shower for another 20, and after that I will get something to eat.
I am still alive, despite this blatant neglect of Weider principles. (Everybody knows he invented PWO and everything else associated with lifting).
