Maybe this is a silly question, but do marinades add calories, fat, etc to meats and seafood? So, if you marinade chicken in a sauce but then take it out of the sauce and grill it separately, how does that impact the chicken's calories, etc?

I would say yup. Marginal amounts, but it would add all the same... depending on what you're using. Soy sauce, not really... sugar and honey... hell yeah! Avoid oils and sugars... use lemon or lime juices, tomato sauce (no sugar added) vinegars... cal free stuff.

Most prepared marinades are full of sugar. Make your own - soy sauce, ginger, lime juice, mustard, etc.
