everything in moderation. I personally dont like artificial sweetners, even splenda... I use small amounts of stevia when needed for oats or coffee.

Tried to post earlier -
For those that use stevia, just remember it hasn't been approved yet by the FDA, which is why you won't find it in foods yet.
From a letter from the FDA to bodybuilding dot com
Stevia (Stevia rebaudiuna) and Stevia extracts are not approved food additives. Stevia and Stevia extracts are also not GRAS because published studies have raised safety concerns about their use, including concerns about control of blood sugar, and effects on the reproductive, cardiovascular and renal systems. The above-listed products are thus adulterated under section 402(a)(2)(C) of the Act
(21 U.S.C. § 342(a)(2)(C)) because they are or they contain an unsafe food additive, Stevia (Stevia rebaudiana) or Stevia extract.

Stevia isn't artificial
Just quoting from the site Thunder posted
I once again remind you that the fact that a substance is 'natural' doesn't equate with its being harmless. An all natural extract of the foxglove plant (similar to an all natural extract of the stevia plant) is digitalis, which is lethal if consumed in all but the most minute amounts. Natural, but deadly, from which it gets its common name: the deadly nightshade. Similarly, curare is derived from all natural sources in the South American jungles and yet it's a deadly poison in minute amounts.
Interesting read..thanks!
Thanks for posting. I know I need to cut down my sweetener intake :pimpslap:
Did anyone else find that thumb sucking remark hilarious?

Of course the fda won't approve stevia because it is a herb, it's all natural. They can't create it with chemicals and make money off it. They like to patent what they sell, like the chemical sweeteners and other drugs they invent. You have to swollow pounds of stevia for it to cause the damage they claim. Many herbs if taken in large quanities can hurt you. Parsley can stop your heart if you consume too much. I think ephedra the herb is probably better then the one they formulated. Some people just abused it and now we are paying for it. But drugs the fda sell that people are messed up or even dying from are still on the market. it's all about the money, of course! The world is funny. Live and let live I guess is what they say.
