Birth control

Currently, I am using the Nuva Ring. So far, I don't like it. I would really like to be on some sort of non hormonal birth control, if that's possible. I've been reading about IUD, and have met with a few people that love it. For those using an IUD, how is it? Any lowered sex drive? Same with the "mini pill" (progesterone pill only). If these questions are too personal, you can just PM me with your thoughts. Thanks :)

I have the Mirena IUD, which is low progesterone. So, not a non hormonal IUD, but I'll tell you my thoughts anyway! I've had it almost 3 years, and love it. For the first 2.5 yrs I had absolutely no period or spotting whatsoever. Now I have very slight spotting each month, but on a normal cycle schedule. I still get extremely bad PMS every single month, but that seems to occur to me no matter what method of BC I use.
I haven't had any other side effects and love the convenience. I'll either get another Mirena in a year and a half, or try the copper one. Or have another kid...lol

With the nuva ring, I've been getting my period twice in one month. I just don't like the way I feel on it. It's hard to explain.

I have not had children. I tried to go with the Mirena, but insertion was unsuccessful-so if you haven't had kids, this may be a problem for you as well. I've had no problems with the Nuva Ring. I went off Yasmin after having been on some kind of BC pill for the past 15 years-just got tired of adding so much crap into my body.
