I'd say mine split by 2-3 inches during pregnancy. My doctor never said much about it and they went back on their own by my 6 week check up.
I hope that your,s isn't too bad, but their are ab exercises I've heard and seen demonstrated in the past. I wish I knew where so I could direct you. (their for post preg though)

Aah the wonderful world of pregnancy...I got diastasis during my first pregnancy. It got better, but did not go away. I am expecting it to get bigger this time around :(
Just remember not ot do any twisting ab exercises soon post partum-- this can make it worse ( yeah, I learned the hard way). My abs always looks inflated/bloated unless I am very lean ( or suck it in). Pretty much sucked, but I can deal. During contest prep I also got way into pilates and it seemed to help.
Good luck

I had it with all three, it went away but while I was pregnant I could make my belly super pointy if I wanted. I still have a gap but it does not effect the flatness of my belly and is really only noticable when I am doing a full sit-up slowly and who the heck does that regularly?

I had it with all 4 pregnancies, but it went away after each one. So there is hope. I wouldn't stress too much over it.

Ditto on the pointy belly!!! It comes to a point when I do planks, crunches and pushups...it looks so crazy!! :)
I had it with all three.
First time was about 3 inches.
Second time was 4.
Third time was a good 5 inches.
I still have about a 2-3 inch separation while doing a full crunch. This is my abs in my avi.
I don't think it is really noticable.
Note: last baby is 15 months old now. Oldest just turned 5.
good to know, I hope my abs get back like your guys':D
I was wondering if doing push-ups and such would just make it worse?
it is so freaky looking!!:lol3:
