I understand I should just be forcing myself to eat. I've been going through a pretty stressful two weeks. I just can't get myself to eat because my stomach is so upset. Sadly, I was just starting to see results and now I'm scared I'm messing up my progress. The most I got down today was a piece of toast, two protein shake, bowl of cottage cheese and they all made me feel so sick.

Any recommendations? Also, am I severly screwing up my progress?

The lack of appetite is stress related?

Yes, very much so. One, I have no appetite. Two, I've been trying to make myself eat and it just makes my stomach more upset.

I'm waiting for this stress to wind down but I'm afraid that my progress is going to be somewhat altered because of it.

Depends on what your stressed out about. If this stress is going to end soon then I really wouldn't worry about it. But if its something thats going to continue on for a while then you have to find something to get your appetite going.

Normally make myself eat. If I'm that stressed and I wind up tossing my chicken, then so be it. But most likely, if I force the food down it stays and I'm fine.

Hey, I left you that bottle of wine, virtually untouched, that makes up for any wasted food.

Your going to have to find a way to separate your stress. Find some ways to to work through it so that it doesnt affect your food/plan. Im sure easier said than done, but you have to put yourself first.

Try smaller meals if you have to in order to keep eating.

First work on the stress. Stress reduction, etc.

Try foods that are gentle on the stomach or liquid shakes.

I eat anyway. In the past, I've struggled with a lack of appetite under stress or when I was depressed but my therapist told me that it just screws with your blood sugar & kind of creates a self-perpetuating cycle.

Try stuff like protein shakes, etc. Worst case, I eat whatever I feel like even if it isn't totally clean. Better something than nothing.

Thanks guy, I'm hoping the stress winds down soon. I'm going to be forcing myself to eat more today and hopefully my appetite will return. I got a bowl of oatmeal down this morning so thats a good sign.

I'm going through the same thing now, for some reason...I have no idea why I'm constantly nauseous and lack appetite, but I do...I just force it on down, even if I can't eat everything planned I still eat a little something.

I usually just try and force it down. After a while I think you get used to this feeling...or at least I have.

I wish I had your problem (the not wanting to eat when stressed). I have the exact opposite reaction. When stressed – eat more.

Are liquids easier? I have the opposite problem.....I eat more when stressed and my diet is terrible. I need help in the opposite way. Good luck to you.

Well, the stress is pretty much gone. I finally got myself to eat last week. It wasn't good, clean food but oh well. My appetite is back and I am now back on track.
