View Full Version : Hunger and Diet Breaks?

Does anyone find that their hunger virtually disappears if they take a couple of days off their diet? Is this why they say "breaks" are good for dieters?

I had a terrible week last week of being out of control hungry and depressed and itired so I took a self-proclaimed off plan refeed (or a 3 day reason to survive on a whole lot of cereal!) I didn't want to do this because I trust T with my progress a million times more than I trust myself, but I think if I didn't I would be sader and hungrier.

Anyway, well now 3 days after the "break" I still have no appetite and feel really full after most meals???

WTF? I think I might have overdone it. Whyen I say a lot of cereal - I mean a lot of cereal. Special K almonds and Vector were going back like water.

AND: how long until the water weight would go away? P.S. it is still there...at least I hope it's water weight.

ahhhhhhhh sounds like the little "refeed" has reset fallen leptin levels from dieting.

:)

yes, this works and is needed depending on the point in diet and what sort of diet one follows.

I was just up last night reading about refeeds:

I have a scheduled refeed every week now (I work with T as well) and am looking forward to my first after weeks of dieting. The one cheat meal a week was great but I've recently started to think (obsess?) about food a bit more than usual :p

It is really crazy though because I have ALWAYS had a pretty fierce appetite since I have been dieting, but now I got natta, and I feel SUPER full after a meal that before was barely enough. huh. guess that is a good thing. thanks for the link.

Good links and an interesting read.

So I am assuming that pizza would not be a good refeed food because of the fat?
And I quess I will have to eat my pasta w/out olive oil

But it makes sense, I am going to give it a try. Any excuse to have a (ff)latte and a bagle.
Carb cycling did not go to well for me. I had issues. This seems more for me.

I wish pizza was an acceptable refeed food... maybe just the crust - but then it wouldn't be considered pizza :(
